MM-LINX - Super Mario Maker 2 Level Injector

nstall the MM-LINX homebrew application on your switch, to install levels uploaded to https://tinfoil.io/MarioMaker/ directly to your Super Mario Maker 2 Level slots!

Very early release, please be patient and it will get better with time as all of my applications do :) Feel free to post feature requests and bug reports.

This is currently hard coded to use the first user profile. Please ensure that Super Mario Maker 2 is not running, and that you have at least one SMM2 save on the first user's profile.

For maximum compatibility and stability, we recommend that you use ReiNX or SX.

Download: https://github.com/blawar/mmlinx

edit: 1.01 fixed sorting, press + to sort
edit: 1.02 added support for uploading your levels to tinfoil.io from MM-LINX
edit: 1.03 added file browser for installing levels from (sd, ftp, http, gdrive, usb, etc), search, ability to change user, translation (needs work), ability to copy files to and from smm2's save directly, themes, other stuff I probably forgot.
edit: 1.04 saving / loading is now much faster and does not overwrite your save progress; added columns for difficulty, rating, and course id; ability to unlock hammer and super flower on supported cfw's.
edit: 1.05 increased security, mandatory update. Cloud servers will no longer work with previous versions (downloads section will be empty).

Currently running open source cfw. I'd like a level injector. But after reading this thread I find it disgusting that devs would carry on this way. What I choose to use to operate my nintendo should mean nothing to the dev making software for a game. I'm amazed so many ppl think this is acceptable. Seemed like such a great idea too this software package. Only to be ruined by the person who created it. This thread is more about drama then it is about Mario maker. How sad is this scene now! Embarrassing really that devs stoop this low. Such a shame for the scene. Hopefully another coder will do something similar without the childish antics going on at the same time.

So, when downloading a level, mmlinx will fill up the slots in ascending order. 18, 19, 20 etc. When I delete previous levels, mmlinx will not fill und these empty spots and instead continue onwards (21, 22...). When launching Mario maker the game will complain about levels being corrupted and deleted for each "empty" spot in between.
Even rearanging all levels to be continuous doesnt help, the next level downloaded will be put into the next spot (23, 24) and put every level back into their original spot.
Is there some way to prevent that?

which version are you using? 1.04 doesnt create placeholder "empty" courses.

I am using 1.04 - but I think I found the issue. When downloading a custom level using mmlinx and deleting it ingame does not free up the slot. I needed to delete these "corrupted" levels from within mmlinx to free the slots

Tried it under Kosmos / Atmosphere (FW 8.1.0 AMS 0.9.2), it doesn't start, there's a crash just after the warning.
I hope it'll be compatible with Kosmos one day, I'd love trying more levels and share mine.

It works on kosmos if you use the modified build at the end of page 19 of this thread.

Just install joonie’s patches and use latest hekate. Then you don’t get the warning nag. But you need to use the modified version to have file browser.

I'm having this same issue too. I don't know how to fix it.

I do not understand people like you who comes to this thread and push the dev into doing something that suits their agendas , don't like his work ? don't use it , and certainly don't comment with your negativity, it's a bit hard to do, but you can pull it off.

honestly , its his work , he's allowed to make the choices that suits him best , stop being entitled and just enjoy what you get for free.

its politics in software development for a "game" in a homebrew community. to me thats being pathetic.

btw on page 19 is a hacked nro i can run right now without having to do anything. so please explain how the hell i am being entitled when i can run his software perfectly fine right now? i also posted after page 19.
needless to say no one has had an issue with that nro on any firmware. therefor his software works 100% fine on any cfw but his being pig headed because he dont like certain people. pathetic.

its the fact that devs wanting to force people to run certain cfw to suit there personal tastes is just wrong. this post is more about the politics then it is about the software.

just go make exclusive sxos software and stop posting software that everyone could use but is forced not too. unless it gets hacked.
sxos have a forum, go post the software there if you dont want the general masses of gbatemp having access to your software without you forcing there hand.

Oh man, oh man. do you not realize how much "politics" is started by the people you think are "the good guys?" I can't tell you how many homebrew release threads I've seen that have stated "This program was made and tested on Atmosphere and no help will be provided to ReiNX users." The truth of the matter is that you might think Blawar is a dick for xyz reason, but that's always been the status quo for the scene. If you don't like his apps, you have every reason to not use them, but thinking he's the only one doing this is hilarious and wrong.

actually go back through 20 pages, i certainly started nothing, but merely pointing out the fact that the politics is BS for no reason in a thread about software.
start a new thread or better yet, talk to the people you have beef with and sort it out.

as for threads with "This program was made and tested on Atmosphere and no help will be provided to ReiNX users." in it atleast these devs dont force you to use different firmware, they just wont support it. never seen an app that suggests you delete a certain fw or remove features from the software if you are running certain firmware.

difference between not supporting something then rendering the software useless if you dont have said fw.

im not here to debate this shit, move on. was merely stating a fact that bringing politics like this into a game modding software development is sad and a shame for the scene. the end. no entitlement no nothing. its just plain flat out sad for the scene in my opinion.

First of all, I never said you started it. I said the shit flinging with CFWs wasn't started by Blawar. Secondly, can you not draw the parallel between the two actions? Blawar's way of saying it's not supported is more aggressive, but it's still the same as another dev saying "I'm not helping you unless you run Atmosphere."

I agree, however. I do think the politics in the scene are sad, but that's not blawar's fault, that's not my fault, or your fault. The people responsible for starting the shit flinging know who they are, and they should be ashamed at what they've let it turn into. This is just the fall out of one group thinking they are better than all the others, and other developers thinking "If I act like them, maybe they'll like me too!" I'm glad blawar doesn't put up with that shit, and I wish other devs didn't either.
