Langrisser I & II will be getting an official English release in 2020

A remake of the first two Langrisser (or Warsong, depending on your region) titles will be headed west. NIS America will be localizing the game, which is set for a 2020 release on Nintendo Switch, Steam, and PlayStation 4. Langrisser is a strategy RPG, which released in the west for the Sega Genesis in 1991, with the sequel, Langrisser II, never getting an official English translation. This remake will feature new visuals, music, and voice acting, along with refined gameplay elements.

Langrisser I: The forces of darkness are descending upon the kingdom of Baldea. Take up your sword as Prince Ledin, and discover the evil that lies in the heart of the Dalsis empire.

Langrisser II: The forces of darkness once again threaten the realm. Thrust in between warring factions, it is up to our hero Elwin to navigate this war and determine which path will bring peace to this conflict.

Langrisser I & II is returning with both classic stories of good and evil now remade in beautiful high-definition visuals, reorchestrated music, and quality-of-life improvements to the gameplay and user experience that made these strategy RPGs truly legendary.

Key Features
  • A Blade Honed to Perfection – Experience two classic titles with new art, music, and presentation.
  • Modernizing a Timeless Tale – Perfectly re-tuned gameplay for a modern SRPG feel.
  • Langrisser and Alhazard – Two legendary swords, two legendary tales—brought back to life with new localization and a new character!

I'm quite excited for this. I really liked Langrisser 1 and 2 and it'll be interesting to see what they'll do to them. I do have to say that visually, the old pc remake of Langrisser 1 looked better than what this trailer shows.

I still have my Genesis cartridge of Warsong that i bought in the 90s :P
I'm not 100% sold on the new look though. Ledin looks more badass older like in the original . . .
Glad the serie is getting more exposure lately though.
I been having lots of fun with the mobile version of Langrisser that came out earlier this year too.

So... a Shinning Force that doesn't suck or is too short? No wonder it became popular in the Sega Genesis era.
The first Shining Force has this "early RPG" mechanics (like Earthbound), that kinda sucks. But the second one is a masterpiece.

when I was a kid, I wanted to try these games but never had a chance, and when I had (emulators) the graphic was outdated already for me, and I already played FFT and FE games, so the original was no longer interesting. I would like to give it a try though.

I remember playing this on my Genesis back then. Even back then I didn't like it much and wasn't nearly as spoiled with good games as nowdays. Worth $5 to me since it has psn trophies.
