So I did some testing and I'm 99% convinced it's my USB HDD that's the problem. I tried using a 16 GB flash drive I have instead of my USB HDD and loaded uneek on there and it works, even without the SD card. I copied all the files from the flash drive exactly as they are to my USB HDD and the Wii just sits at "reloading bootmii iOS" seemingly forever. The disc drive doesn't flash or anything. These drives are formatted the same (FAT32, 32K clusters, Active, MBR partition type). The only difference between them is that the USB HDD has a TON of games on it and the flash drive has none. I've completely removed the SD card from the equation so it's definitely something related to the USB HDD.

I'm using this drive: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-my-...ware-encryption-black/6203245.p?skuId=6203245

I've followed the instructions in Cyan's post here to the letter: https://gbatemp.net/threads/driver-san-francisco-hangs-on-load-screen.389252/#post-5508831

Any ideas?

Also, if I can't get this to work is there a way to just install the VC games directly to my real NAND but still have them show up in USBLoaderGX? I really don't want to buy another drive...

I'm going to hikack this thread in order to avoid creating a new one.

My goal is too prepare two Wiis to give to children, I want them to be filled with games and easy for a 6 year old to learn and use.
I want to fill the wii with channels, wiiware, virtual console etc.
Both my Wiis are PAL, all my VC and wiiware are NTSC US, I wanted to create a UNEEK/SNEEK with a US nand in order to avoid compatibility problems.

I happens that I have the same problem, I get stuck on reloadinh bootmii, I also tried SNEEK too to check if it was my usb giving me trouble, it just so happens, I'm always stuck at the same step.

I used ModMii to create my emunand, copied the files to SD and USB, created the channel and launched, it starts nSwitch, and everything goes well, he finds the kernel and then gets stuck on on reloading bootmii ios.

I don't understand because I've used priiloader and bootmii to see if I can load it, I can.

---------------------------------

Another question, since I'm on the verge of giving up creating a sneek+di or uneek+di(tried both), what If I just create an emunand within usb loader GX and use priiloader to make the wii boot into priiloader?

Is there any downside to this method?

UPDATE:
I managed to do it, it seems for some reason my wii isn't capable of sneek+di, so I made a simple sneek without di and it worked.

I tried your solution (just using uneek with no di) just for kicks but no luck. Glad you could get it sorted though! I'm stuck using the SD card menu for my WiiWare and VC games unless I want to replace the hard drive.

How big is your SD? Why not try SNEEK?

My SD card is 32 GB. You know, you make a good point. It honestly never even occurred to me to try sneek. Tunnel vision I guess... I have nothing to lose since I have all my WiiWare/VC games on SD card atm anyway and it might actually work since it seems like my USB HDD is the problem. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

And your USB HDD will probably still work for Wii retail games.

Just to make sure, right now are you able to boot into bootmii?

Yes, bootmii works fine. Also I put sneek on the SD card and it gets past reloading bootmii iOS now. It actually goes to the health/warning screen of the emulated NAND. However, I have been waiting about five minutes after pressing A and it's just a black screen. I already copied cert.sys and shared2 folder to the emulated NAND directory. Is that normal?

Yes that's normal on first boot, there may be another pause after clicking A to get past the heath screen as well.

If it takes more than 20-30 min something has probably gone awry
The pause I get is after the health screen. I turned it off after about 7 minutes. I'll try leaving it for like 20 this time. Thanks!

Hum, mine went to a configuration screen, like when you bought the wii for the first time.
How did you build your emunand/sneek?

I used ModMii on my computer to build the emunand, it's very simple because the program guides you.

It didn't take me that much time, probably one minute not much more.

Okay so the good news: IT WORKS! Huge thanks to both of you!

The reason yours went to the configuration screen and mine didn't is because I copied cert.sys and shared2 manually using WiiExplorer. To expedite things, I used a dump of my real NAND instead of a generated one and it didn't freeze at all after the health screen. I set this to my emuNAND path in USBLoaderGX and set the mode to neek for a game that would previously not work on USBLoaderGX's emuNAND (Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth) and it works perfectly.

I have 3 problems now though.

1. When I exit the game, instead of returning to USBLoaderGX, it returns to the emulated Wii NAND.
2. Some of my installed WiiWare games have the wrong titles. Castlevania shows up as the Title ID instead of the game title.
3. Channels like Mii Channel that are on my EmuNAND show up in the games list.

I can't help you much further because I don't know much else.

I don't know about this one, I'd wait for a more knowledgeable user to help you, but I think it would be possible to use priiloader to make home button go to usbloadergx.
You just wouldn't have a way to go to nand system menu then, unless you reset the console.

2. Some of my installed WiiWare games have the wrong titles. Castlevania shows up as the Title ID instead of the game title.
I have no idea, waiting for someone with more knowledge.

3. Channels like Mii Channel that are on my EmuNAND show up in the games list.
On USB Loader GX? If yes, you have two options.

1. USB Loader GX has a filter, I think it's the second or third button on the menu located at the top of the screen.
Check this unrelated post, it contains an image of what I'm talkign about:

Over here, you need to check "GC Games"
30105B0F9.png

Just uncheck NAND/Emunand Channels, of course this will also hide all wiiware and VC games too.

2. Delete the useless nintendo channels, to me, all they do is use precious space on my wii system menu.
Check the image I uploaded, this is a step when creating the emunand with modmii, you can create a nand without these channels(disk channel is can't be removed unfortunately).

I think you're right about directing priiloader to boot directly to USBLoaderGX, but I was wondering if there's a way to do it without this since I like my system menu. If not I'll probably resort to this method though.

As for USBLoaderGX, I don't think the filter option will work because I still want to display WiiWare/VC titles. Deleting the worthless channels was a good idea, and I used ShowMiiWads to do this. The only problem is some channels can't be deleted, namely it seems like I will need the neek forwarder channel installed on the emuNAND to boot back to USBLoaderGX using priiloader if I can't find an alternate solution to problem 1, so I guess if I could find a solution to the first problem, the third problem would solve itself. I still would like a solution to problem 2 (renaming the titles) if anyone knows how to do this though.

EDIT: Found a way to hide the channels, see this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/WiiHacks/comments/4e3v9s/usb_loader_gx_hide_channels
EDIT2: Found a way to rename the channels in USBLoaderGX. It's annoying though because you have to do them one by one. Go to GUI Settings and set the animation to rotation disc, then you can rename each game by pressing A on the game and then pressing A on the title. You can later set the animation back to banner if you want. If anyone knows a faster way to do this please let me know.

So basically now my only unsolved question is if there is a way to return to USBLoaderGX from neek emuNAND without using priiloader to boot directly into USBLoaderGX each time the Wii starts and installing the neek forwarder channel to the emuNAND. I like my system menu. :(
