Monolith Soft is hiring development staff for The Legend of Zelda series

dsadad.png

A new recruitment page has gone live on Monolith Soft's website, where it appears that they're looking to hire for work on an upcoming The Legend of Zelda game. The company is looking for programmers, designers, management support, and technical artists that wish to assist with creating something related to the Zelda series. This wouldn't be the first time that they've been involved with the franchise, as we know that Monolith Soft previously aided development on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Monolith Soft is most recently known for Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2, and has three development studios on Japan, with two of them confirmed for working on future titles. This news follows last year's recruitment drive by the company, which was looking for new developers for work on a brand new JRPG. which is referred to as "production 1", while this Zelda project is known internally as "production 2".

I understand your point, but as an old gamer I could still love it. AND my 9 years old daughter could also play it. I think that's precisely what they're aiming for.

Lol, my 5 yo son has even unlocked some tower and shrines on my account when playing without my consent.

Good boy.

Most people don't know that. They should. :ninja:

Easy?

YOU DIE IN ONE HIT AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE GAME! That's not even master mode which makes the game slightly harder. :wtf:

You must be some gaming god to call breath of the wild easy, especially from the start. I play many zelda games before breath of the wild, and this one was the longest it took me to finish.

It is a VERY unbalanced game. In the beginning you are a powerless turd with weapons made of butter, then suddenly once you get the master sword you fire lightning from your ass. Literally, until the master sword i have been avoiding battles and mobs because i was easy to kill and once i got that i was grinding guardians. The most epicly unbalanced game in the universe for sure. I second the notion for NO BOTW2 please. If i wanted an open world bonanza mashup, thank god, there are 100000 titles out there. Everybody and their nan are doing 100+ hour open world games now.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Don't mind me. I'm just here to rant about Breath of the Wild and the new fresh gameplay Nintendo implemented.

You know me from threads like "The Legend of Zelda is always the same - lame!" and "When does this series try something great again?"

Fresh? 95% of everything in the game is a direct copy-paste from other open world games of the last 10 years. The only thing it did better (and it did great!) was weather/climate and how it affects gameplay and access to areas. Absolutely everything else was done (to death) before. Some people might not have played Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, LOTR, Dying Light so thought all of these things are 'new' when in fact they are not.

Which in a way, is not bad, its just Nintendo trying to catch up, but if you have played a few of them already, it's less fresh than it seems.

Just my 0,02 obviously, i still enjoyed the game after a certain point, there are great stuff in it here and there, but as mechanics go, i did not feel for a moment (apart from the weather stuff) there was anything fresh in there.

Unless they use it as a base to expand and make an even better game out of the engine now that its development is done... That would be interesting but i would be eager to find out if the stamina or weapon breaking is back...

He's delusional, the Wii U was the weakest one IMO, the Switch iteration is everything it should've been.
yeah i gave up mid xenoblade chronicles X the random exploration and such just felt weird and the story took ages to move due to mandatory exploration and such to get story missions.

It was the garbage soundtrack that turned the game off for me, the Switch version has a much more cohesive and consistent style.

People debating if BotW is good or not is about as original, exciting, and compelling as BotW itself.
That's kind of a wierd comment, lol. That's like saying, people talking about things they like is as original as BotW itself. So don't talk about things you like because it's not original. People talk about things they like and hate all the time. Be unique and don't talk at all. Talking about stuff is not original.

I think real Zelda fans can agree, all breath of the wild had going for it was visuals, was a good looking game but a horrible Zelda. Zelda is supposed to be dungeons and puzzles, not a bunch of shrines that do not advance the game/story forward.

More Dungeons
More Durability
More Bosses/Enemy types
More Swimming/Underwater
More Zelda booty!!
More Music
More Hookshot

Less Shrines!

BOTW wasn't a bad game by any means but it was definitely missing some Zelda staples.

More Dungeons Majora's Mask and Wind Waker have 4 dungeons too.
More Durability ok
More Bosses/Enemy types ok
More Swimming/Underwater Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword don't have underwater exploration too.
More Zelda booty!! BOTW and OOT are the only games where she actually does something for the plot.
More Music That's subjective. I find the music in BOTW absolutely fantastic. Yeah, it's sparse but it's actually better than having an overworld theme playing nonstop.
More Hookshot Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword don't have an hookshot too.
Less Shrines! ok

BOTW wasn't a bad game by any means but it was definitely missing some Zelda staples.

@Enryx25

Your post is not factual,

TP had a water dungeon
TP had a hookshot
Majoras Mask only had four dungeons

I could on
Majoras Mask dungeons were also significantly harder than BotW

Is it bad that I think Zelda II the Adventure of Link is one of the best Zelda game?

there is one where you only play as zelda but we dont usualy talk about that becuase its on the cdi lol
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zelda's_Adventure
Does the BS Zelda allows you to play as Zelda?
I think it does.

I'm finishing Zeldas since i'm 9, they never been difficult (exept Zelda 2, but it's the lack of save that make it hard)
Pause game then press up and A at the same time on controller 2.
The above is applicable for the original NES Zelda II game. Never played the virtual console counterpart.

Meh, I just wish for a more traditional Zelda game.
A giant open world game to me is only interesting if it's also packed to the brim with content, which would require a much larger development team, a higher budget, a longer development cycle and would probably cost way more for the consumer.
None of these things are going to happen, so you're just gonna get a tiny overworld that is stretched out across a giant map with Korok Seeds or other useless collectables to justify the scale.
All it really does is add more unnecessary traveling time and make the player nervous all the time because they're worried they're missing stuff.
Nintendo x Platinum Games - Project Zelda when?

Something that has nothing to do with what you said. But Megumi had one of the most gruesome death scenes in anime ever
