Because if TX doesn't care about adding 7.0.x support, then they're abandoning SX OS and its users.

I'm going to pretend you don't know what I'm talking about, because your response doesn't make sense otherwise. Gateway was a 3DS flashcart that used 3DS files that are analogous to XCI files. When CIA files (analogous to NSP files) became popular, people preferred them over XCI files because they were free to use.
3DS files are cart dumps. CIA files are more akin to eshop packages, in laymen terms (although I'm not familiar with either format, so feel free to correct.)
XCI and NSP are literally the same format with different certificates; this is why you can "install" an XCI file; it just treats it as an NSP. Maybe you're new to the scene, fyi, but XCI predates TX by a long shot; they did the right thing and adopted the standard format already used by scene dumpers. And there are strengths to this, too, like being entirely safer than NSP installing. Also, for the heck of it...

You're really bad at this whole 'not talking for everyone in the scene' thing, huh hunny?

The sentiment seems to be the same with regard to NSP files vs. XCI files.
If atmosphere doesnt add xci and hdd support they are abandoning atmosphere and its users. man you say funny things. :D
pd: dont say people dont care about hdd support ( saw it in another post ). i could say the same about cheats or restart to payload in atmos but it isnt true.

Was the point you were trying to make that you understand the analogy between installable 3DS formats and installable Switch formats?

Luma3DS dominates the scene.

Speaking in generalities doesn't mean I'm speaking for everyone.

It's not abandonment when a feature was never discussed.

What does this have to do with the Switch? Silly hunny.
In a nutshell, Luma3DS uses CIA files, not 3DS files. The miscommunication is that a previous version of my post said XCI in place of 3DS (although there was context).

Which has what exactly to do with the Switch?

The history of 3DS backup loading is analogous to the history of Switch backup loading. Do I need to explain how, or are you being disingenuous?
Your comparison is weak, though; .3DS files had no benefits over CIA files, whereas XCI files have palpable benefits; easy of library sharing, HDD mounting support, slipstreaming updates and DLC into a single file, and of course the only way to make legitimate backups with your own certificates.

I like to read how people assume devs should cater to their wish of having such and such feature from their cfw in order to use it:D
The level of entitlement!

The arguments we hear over and over about the ease of use of XCI files are the same arguments we heard about 3DS files.

Which benefits did 3DS files have? Did they allow for slipstreaming updates and DLC into a single file? Did they allow for 4TB+ mass storage for use with your TV? How about letting you avoid using expensive MicroSD cards?

The main thing you will hear over and over about XCI files is how easy they are to use and how one can just drag and drop them without needing to install anything. Those are the same old Gateway 3DS arguments.

Okay, and how about the other benefits of XCI files? Seems like you're conveniently ignoring those for the sake of your argument, hunny.

When did I try to speak for the entire community?
"these aren't what people want" "these things aren't arguments people make" "this product is disliked" "people prefer this" et cetera. Speak for yourself, or speak objectively. It's not really very difficult.

Those aren't the arguments you see over and over again.
The main thing you will hear over and over
because few people care about those features
Most people wouldn't call those the most important features.
They also don't care about the those features
SX OS users show they're committing the sunk cost fallacy.

From this thread alone. You're constantly speaking as though you represent "the common user," "the whole community," or even "most users."

Are you telling me, for example, that I haven't responded to ten or twenty different posts specifically about the convenience of XCI loading? I don't claim to speak for everyone. When using the royal you (e.g. Those aren't the arguments you see over and over again.), it roughly translates to Those aren't the arguments one generally sees over and over again. As I might have said to you earlier, I'm not interested in arguing semantics.

If you want to talk about how I'm wrong, great, but let's not claim I'm trying to speak for everybody. I'm not.

Edit: Oh, and some of the examples you quoted were out of context and look like I'm speaking for everybody when I'm actually speaking for very few people and doing so correctly.
