I was using the one mentioned earlier. hippy dave has the link.Does the latest RetroArch nightly core use SVC patches? As I understand it, you need to use the one m4xw linked to in his twitter feed a couple of weeks ago. I think he hasn’t been updating the RA nightly core because he’s been doing other projects.
Did you change it to xmb via Menu Driver? And how are you running RetroArch? The supported way is with the latest Atmosphere 0.8.4, and running homebrew with title replacement. Also use the SVC build linked in the last page and follow the general settings arrangement on pg 26.I downloaded latest retroarch nightly. I dont have that fancy xmb menu.
I did this :
"If the menu icons are not loaded when you start RetroArch, you're missing the assets package. Navigate the menu and go to "Online Updater" and select "Download Assets". Otherwise, download the assets here and extract it to sd:/retroarch/assets. The next time you open RetroArch, all should be well."
and still dont have the xmb menu. So, Im just wondering if latest version of retroarch no longer has that xmb menu look anymore? or do i have to go online in the app if i want that xmb menu?
also, i havent had a change to try it in docked mode. I mainly play handheld. and mario 64 runs about 40 fps. is that normal.
videos online of people playing smooth 60 fps are in docked mode it seems. is this the same for anyone else, or are people getting 60 fps in handheld mode?

Just tried with Pokemon Quest, and I'm getting a fluid 60fps. Do you have the Video Driver set to GL, Audio Driver set to Switch_thread, and Threaded Video enabled? With the Mupen options, did you make sure to close the current game and reload it?thank you for that. no I hadnt changed it to xmb at menu driver, first page of retroarch thread did not mention that.
Ya, I have latest hekate, atmosphere (kosmos) and doing the title replacement, and the mupen core linked everywhere.
still 40fps mario 64, handheld mode and stuterry audio.
hmm.. at first I was using pokemon quest. that was giving just 40 fps.
tried thumper just now and it fluctuates between 40 fps up to 55 fps fps now. its a little bit smoother, but not butter smooth like i see some of these youtube videos. but those people are docked and i just dont have a tv. can only do handheld mode. still curious of anyone has smooth 60fps handheld.
also wonder what best game to use is. pokemon quest was crap. thumper is better.
Using 32-bit titles is a problem too, but there aren't many. The most prominent examples are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. For the most part, the title you use for title replacement should not matter. There were some compatibility issues with very low title IDs but it shouldn’t manifest as performance issues.
Bumping this up, thanks for the help. Thanks for the great work on this dynarec!
Quick question on a couple of games that are running very dark.
Nightmare Creatures: Front menu is visible but background game is too dark and impossible to play, I tried to modify the options but none improve the brightness. Changing the brightness on TV or console doesn't make any difference either.
Doom64: very dark but not as bad as above, same story with options change or TV brightness.
Could someone try those games and report if same problem occur?
Any other settings I should be checking?
Thanks for the help.
OK guys I really not understand how you do ^^
First, thank you very much for your work, it's really cool ! I can play to many games with retroarch on my switch : the dream come true ! ahah
But since one week now, I try to launch N64 games. I have read many thread, see many manipulation to launch a n64 game, but when I go to retro arch and I launch the game : my switch crash and I need to restart.
I have the last retroarch and I launch from the main menu (.nsp) and I don't understand why the switch still crash...
In an other way I have install Glide64, and the games run but very very slow.
Somebody can help me to know how I can play goldeneyes on in my bath ? ^^
Thanks !
Why are u using a nsp?
Why?
https://docs.libretro.com/guides/install-libnx/I just try everything. If I start Retroarch from Homebrew, it also crash and some people said retroarch work better in a .nsp.
I am just lost like a noob who try to find a solution ^^
noI'm going to rephrase the question better.
Has anyone managed to play killer instinct gold at a playable speed?
