Hi guys.
I just acquired a non patched switch and I will surely install some CFW like atmosphere pretty soon.
It is probably a dumb question but I guess this is the place to.

When I want to launch a CFW I need a payload injector, then I'll be able to launch homebrew etc..

My question is : if I don't send any payload (without autorcm enabled), I will boot on the OFW, but is it considered as risky regarding bans and so on?

Are Team Xecuter boring on an update for the latest firmware?
Usually SX OS updates take place after an Atmosphere update and since Atmosphere was just updated, TX cannot be far behind. Would be silly for TX to simply stop supporting their CFW now but what with Atmosphere making it harder for TX to just steal it, it may or may not delay the next SX OS update.

Yes because traces of CFW and homebrew persist in the system even when you don't boot into CFW which can lead to a ban. This is why its recommended to make a NAND backup before using CFW, staying offline with CFW & homebrew, then restoring that NAND prior to going online.

is Sx OS the only CFW that supports USB storage (having games on a HDD) ?
Currently yes however ReiNX plans to implement all of SX OS' features into their CFW in the future.

Noob quesion here: Can i updato to 7.0.1 from 6.2 or do i have to go first 7.0.0?

Are these stepss ok to follow if want to update ofline no burning fuses?

Well due to a slight mishap with m4xw, Kosmos will now be bundling two versions of their package; one with sig patches and one without. Their updater will also receive a slight modification in that if you don't have the sig patches already on the SD card, it won't update them unless you input a passcode. For nearly all end users, these changes can be ignored but this is just a heads up when you suddenly see 2 download links.

Should I wait for a new version of Kosmos? Or is updating my current 6.2.0 system on Kosmos + hekate + Atmosphere-0.8.1 as simple as:

1. Unzip the Atmosphere-0.8.4 release on to my SD card [Does this overwrite the 0.8.1 installation?]
2. Unzip the 7.0.1 sigpatches posted earlier in the other thread onto the SD card
3. Use ChoidujourNX to install the 7.0.1 update as well as AutoRCM to preserve fuses
4. Use fusee-primary.bin as my new payload (from TegraRCMGUI since I push the payload over USB from my PC)

Also on step 3 is there any need to turn on AutoRCM from ChoidujourNX if I already have it enabled? I already did it immediately after installing hekate when I first put CFW on my system (I was already on 6.2.0 via an official update so didn't bother with ChoidujourNX at the time).

You can install the latest firmware 7.0.1 only. Be sure that autoRCM is enabled during the installation, but that should be by default.

AutoRCM boots you directly in RCM. But you still need to inject the payload. Atmosphere is able to reboot without injecting the payload again but if you completely turn of your console you need to inject it again.

You can’t currently install .nsp files on 7.0.1. The sigpatches from 6.2.0 doesn’t work for 7.0.1. You need to wait until there are new released.
Can you recommend me some sites to download game backups for Switch? If this is something that gets you banned, just tell me. I'll delete it immediately.
Not allowed here...
