That´s exactly what i´m thinking, they just got their own server full of warez and did a plugin for sx installer

absolutely and it was clear from the beginning. knowing their UK/chinese asses I knew from the beginning they would not promote it as "we copied all the warez we could find to our google drive and let you pay for it". as sure as they would never promote their product as "we stole the newest code we could copy together from foreign authors or paid them off".

Hm but that makes no sense. Not that i want to say maxconsole is a little bit clueless, BUT:

- They state that you HAVE to be connected to Nintendo servers so no DNS etc, but a) how will this work for banned consoles (they clame it does) and b) there are videos on youtube showing stargate in action where people use it with stealth mode inside sxos turned on. Also, on the stargate site the state "
Zero risk of a ban w/ SX OS stealth mode enabled!
Even if your Switch is already banned by Nintendo, our product still works perfectly!"

- The tester himself on maxconsole wrote that the latest games (like FF-IX) are missing, and also stargate got a list of newly added and avaiable titles on the homepage

- I just read the whole stargate homepage and nowhere do they claim that you download DIRECT from cdn

So my conclusion is that the tester on maxconsole just got the wrong idea of the product and thought it was that way.

freeShop required a database file present to display games. If the database file was outdated, new games would not be shown. I assume this is also the case for stargate nx. They likely host a database file, stargate reads it and grabs stuff from Nintendo’s CDN.

they cannot just "grab stuff from nintendo's CDN" anymore since nintendo is now really using authenticating methods (what they clearly did not on the Wii U/3DS) to prevent that freeshop situation.
a simple database scan would be automated and would guarantee you the same content on stargateNX a few seconds after it is not nintendo's database. taking days for new content to be implemented clearly shows where the files are from.

that would be a question you would have to ask them. it is just not possible to simply "grab stuff from ninty's CDN" anymore. they would have to hack their servers or burn a switch license every time they download new stuff. and I doubt they cracked valid license generating. for that they would have to get the keys from nintendo. and that is something even the PS3 still has. no newer crack after 3.55 basically.

One reason I can see if that if its not a Freeshop clone (which others have already confirmed it is not), that makes it illegal to not only sell but exist. If reviewers tout it as a Freeshop-esque service, its still legal as it would be downloading from Nintendo's servers just behind a paywall. But the fact of the matter is that it does not download from the CDN. Its just a glorified Google Drive.

Does it even matter if it is downloading from the CDN? What benefit does that even offer over it being a glorified GDrive? I don't see what makes it such a hot point of discussion if I'm honest.
