I'm using a sandisk cruzer glide 16gb and it worked ok but am now reformatting it after the troubles in my previous post.

Ok so after reformat and copying files over again the payload would load again but I was getting a bad command line (a few) just before you have to run exec install, If it got past that when I put the command line in it run back an error saying it couldn't find the file.

So after numerous attempts at reformatting my USB with the tool or through windows it didn't matter it still run that same error, I redownloaded the 3 files and stuck them on USB and noticed I was getting KPs so knew it was on the right path and luckily enough it has started to reinstall.

Quick note if it does the exec install and then goes down a few lines saying it will write the files to /backup and flashes but looks like it's doing nothing just wait a minute and it should start.

Thank you i see a thread earlier talking about this host, they also said the pkgs on there system would no longer start after switching to this from al azif is that true?

I don’t understand why that would be the case, I’m guessing it depends on some fluke combo of payloads being run.

As far as I am aware AlAzif uses the same payloads X-Project does, I know sometimes he modifies them to remove update blocker from HEN, and other hidden bundled payloads to make them clean, but I have used Hen 1.8 and Hen 1.8 VR payloads to install PKGs using PKGLINKER 1.0.3 by pink1 and they have worked fine.

We need some more people who has installed some PKGS via AlAzif and then tried load hen from another source to verify.

Think it could be. I will have a footer with it and get back to you. Thanks again for the help
Any time.:)
Don't worry you will get there in the end.

That means that the USB keyboard you are using is not compatable.

Are you 100% sure that they are kernel panics and not just the PS4 rebooting into linux as it should and then failing there.

Does your PS4 go through the 'checking system storage' when you restart?

Yup, sadly
I mean
What happens is this:

- NO HEN
Infinite OOM popus until I can do nothing (not even run HEN)

- HEN 1.7/1.8
After trying to load Linux Loader (I've tried them all, except for the 3GB)
1) Either the Linux Loader "works" and nothing happens (usually when the Web Browser fakes it)
2) Linux Loader loads, but as sono as the pop-up appears at the top left corner, the PS4 shuts down

Could someone tell me if the PS4 should turn off when the payload worked before booting Linux?

Extra question:
Could someone with a Pro model (maybe like mine, 7016B) upload an image of an USB drive already "installed"?

However, my point is that
Even if I manage to get that working (first install)
It will be an adventure to load linux The second time (when and if PSXItarch will finally install)

I've just done some tests and I get a 10/10 kernel panic if the files canot be read from the USB.

@Sergi8 Please try the following as a test:

1. Plug your USB drive in to your ps4 and go to settings > Devices > USB Storage Devices > 'YOUR USB DRIVE' > press options and select 'Format as exFAT'

2. When it is done plug the USB in your PC and copy over the just bzImage and initramfs.cpio.gz files to the root of your USB.

3. check the MD5 of the bzImage and initramfs.cpio.gz files on the USB. The correct MD5s are:
bzImage - md5 : 20FE8941F2238B35822EA61939F2393D
nitramfs.cpio.gz - md5: 7C38CA9C4EAFF335EF52CEF398AB1278
If you dont have a MD5 checking program you can use this online tool. http://onlinemd5.com/

4. Run the HEN payload. Exit the menu. Go back and run the LinuxLoader payload.

I have tried this method with a cheap 1gb and 4gb USB stick and even an old 1gb memory card and USB card reader and it worked with all of them.

Please note this is just a way of getting Linux to boot. We will concentrate on installing a distro later if this works.

@Sergi8 what exploit menu are you using? (alazif, xproject etc)
Self Host or online?

What you need to run is either the VRAM1, VRAM2, VRAM3, or NOEID for psxitarch linux v2.

As a test use the VRAM2 one or the NOEID one.

Ok just tried
Kernel panic again
So I guess it's the boot itself the problem

The problem is 100% my PS4 model (7016B)

Because everything else works just fine

Ok I also found this:

I don't understand spanish but at least I'm not the only one facing these problems

Ok I managed to "read" what the post said.
Basically the PS4 Pro 7016B has an internal chip on the HDMI port that is not "compatible" somehow
We can close this thread I guess
Thanks again guys, really appreciated the help

Your right, It's not looking good for 7016B models.:(

One thing you could try is v1 files instead of v2 and use the 'Lightweight Linux loader by eeply' from X-project.

You can find the v1 files in the USB PC FILES folder that is released with X-Project. The md5 for v1 files are:
bzImage = 85D3A15A22380591F5519122F436C7BA
initramfs.cpio.gz = A3E4D2E6A15FEA750ED4E8CCCACFA112

I think the payload doesn't work for 7016B.
It's not about the distro itself, but this hardware thing I guess.
Should ask eeply if he can manage to make a payload even for my cuh

I would still give it a try.
A lot of people had successs with the eeply loader and the v1 files when the other loaders would fail.

I don't know
Had tons of reboots today (due to KP)
My last PS4's HDD broke cause of this
Will give it a last chance tomorrow
Thanks

Great news.:)
the next step is to format your USB to FAT32 and try and get it to boot again.

Formatting it to exFAT on the PS4 was just a test I made up to make sure your hardware was compatable.

Although you can boot the linux rescue shell in exFAT you need the drive to be FAT32 to install the linux distro to it.

I found out something.
Could it be that my bzImage was ".txt" in the end?
I never touched it but when I downloaded it from PSXITA, somehow it saved with that extension
