I found out something.
Could it be that my bzImage was ".txt" in the end?
I never touched it but when I downloaded it from PSXITA, somehow it saved with that extension
Yes it 100% needs to be bzImage and not bzImage.txt LOL

I should not laugh, I did exactly the same thing a while ago.:)

Thanks Leeful
Also to KiiWii I've been a great pain "there"

@Sergi8 If you can get it to work with the v2 files I would suggest using the NOEDID or 1GBVRAM loader.
I have had more success when testing with those two.

Actually I got stuck cause it says that there is no "psxitarch" file, even tho I inserted the USB etc.
It's like it check every USB port and doesn't find the right one.
I'm switching ports, will let you know

Edit:
Ok, second try with No-Edid
Switched ports, seem it should work (it has found the file)
I don't know how much I need to wait but other people said about 20/30 mins.
Will let you know

Have you formatted to FAT32 ?
is psxitarch.tar.xz file on the USB?
did you type exec install-psxitarch.sh

If you are using v2 files the md5s are:
bzImage - md5 : 20FE8941F2238B35822EA61939F2393D
nitramfs.cpio.gz - md5: 7C38CA9C4EAFF335EF52CEF398AB1278
psxitarch.tar.xz - md5: 8058D928B9A3F9532D55535E166789F7

If you are using v1 files the md5s are:
bzImage - 85D3A15A22380591F5519122F436C7BA
initramfs.cpio.gz - A3E4D2E6A15FEA750ED4E8CCCACFA112
psxitarch.tar.xz - 26BAE18CCC2E2173109A7FD954657C08

You cannot mix and match files from v1 and v2.

If you are using v1 use the eeply loader.
If you are using v2 use the NOEID or 1GBVRAM loader.

Ok everything went for the best
Inside the OS right now.
Will boot it up with the 3GB version

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Last thing now.
I'm updating the OS with Pacman "sudo pacman -Syu"

Since I have a Pro and I've heard the fans are not working properly (there is no dynamic control over the temperature)
Is there a way to set them to 50%?

I dont know, sorry.
I only know how to get it up and running on the PS4. I'm a complete novice when it comes to Linux.

I saw some mention of fan controll on twitter but I can't remember who.
@KiiWii do you have any info on this?

I can't believe I lost 2 days because of the extension.
Now works great
Just tried some Steam games
Some work, some other don't
F.i. Battleblock Theatre doesn't open
Garry's Mod reaches 120fps at "default" settings (almost everything maxed out)

Not pushing it because I need the Payload for the Fan Control (which should be on its way)

Fans are fine, the threshold is high and ps4 pro is not in "pro" mode in Linux, probably why the fans don't spin high. It doesn't get hot enough.

A bit off topic, can anyone check black color levels while in linux? I have black crush issue.

http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php

Most of the squares should be visible, but on Linux I only see bottom two.

Can't it be due to PSXITARCH default contrast?

@Leeful @Sergi8 Zer0xff is the one to watch, apparently fans kick in after 79 (I think) degrees on pro: DAT HAWT!

I wrote him to ask when the Payload for 60°C will be ready

With the brightness turned up to full on my display I can only see differences in the bottom row. (Using firefox on Psxitarch Linux V2)

I don't know, haven't found a way to change it. Playing with gamma helps but then it becomes too washed out.

Same with you too, this causes loss of detail on mid to dark portions of the screen when watching video or gaming. I asked on Twitter about this but got no reply.

I played Binary Domain just an hour ago
It's not natively supported by Linux so I had to use Steam Play and Proton, but the audio stutters
Garry's Mod reaches about 120 FPS and seems stable (but this time it is supported on Linux)

A part for that I didn't try much else because I want to wait for the Fan Control patch on 60°C

P.S. I forgot that the image quality (contrast etc.) look good to me
Maybe it's just a Firefox's problem
Try with another Web Browser

I had this very same problem on Windows 10 when changing from Chrome to Edge (colors where totally different)

All seems to be working so far and have had no KPs booting up today and even added an external hard drive for psx and other roms.

Anyone found a way of installing kodi on this yet??

Problem is system wide, I get better details when my laptop is connected to same hdmi input.

If you need anything else just look on Google on "HOW TO" on ARCHLINUX (it's an official linxu distro, same as PSXITARCH)
I'm not sure about this but doesn't PLEX support IPTV, too?
