Hi, has been a long time since I didn't check the forum and my switch is still in the box. Do we still need the jig to get in rcm? Or is there any new soft exploit that avoid me to do si (not auto rcm) Thanks

You will have to open and modify your console in such a way and install a chip and solder it which is kinda risky unless you know what you are doing.
Someone on this forum had showed it.
Try searching for COLDBOOT?

I don't want to sound rude but OP asked for software exploits so I don't think he's willing to install a modchip
But yeah, if that's not the case (or you can find someone who'll do it for you) then it's the closes thing we have to a coldboot exploit right now

You sounded like you've been away for months, not 2 weeks
Haha Exactly, the last time I checked was whether to update to 6.0, I have SX but didn't have the time to play so far.

True

If you don't want AutoRCM then yes, a jig or joycon hardmod is still needed.
Thanks

I used a paperclip, just be careful. you shouldnt ever need to apply force, make sure you know which pins to touch.

I personally would not recommend a paperclip.
It can damage from the inside unless someone is really careful.
But I'd find using a wire or Sata Cable is much more safer.
But me myself I personally use Aluminium Foil while I wait for my Jig from China. (NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOUR BUT TAKING YEARS TO ARRIVE)

Well aluminum foil is the worst choice of all (can touch multiple pins, its not solid., with the paperclip you almost have to literally be trying to break it, , or not know what pins to touch. If you try it use a small paper clip. I've never gotten the sata bits to work. I own one jig, it doesnt fit in the switch lol.

It's just the best choice to use a jig.
Sure Aluminium is the Worst Choice but as a temporary one its great.
Adjusted in such a way that it only touches 9 and 10. At times it touches 8 but that does not have any effect on the joycon.
Otherwise HARDMOD and free forever from all this RCM HOMEMADE SUPPLIES BS.

The only reason I havent or still not used AutoRCM is Battery Drain.
I would like to use it but my fear of battery drainage and then eventually our battery capacity will start to die off.
Unless there is a way to use AutoRCM and completely power off the switch then sure, one can use it.

Booting without autorcm will burn fuses, just leave it on the dock, plan to change the switch battery in a year or two.

If you don't accidentally boot RCM and leave it like that, there's no battery drain issue with AutoRCM. You can also completely power off the system using Hekate (recommended) or by holding the power button for the appropriate amount of time.

You can also leave the console docked and in sleep mode when you're not using it, which is what was intended.

So I'd have to boot the payload again?

I made a tinfoil piece that I used. If it's touched other pins I haven't felt it yet lol. I managed to keep it in, without duct tap downgrading to 6.1 and back to 7.0.0 with nand backup later because I feel homebrew isn't worth it at the moment.

I'll be back when we can either coldboot or if someone mods RCM so we can push a button combination to bypass autoRCM without toggling it off on boot.
