Nintendo already stated a firmware update is coming last week.

They adding:

* Chinese
* Korean

For system languages and for Online they are:

* Renaming the eShop to Nintendo Switch Online Shop - No more Nintendo WiiU it shutsdown at end of month
* Expanding the online regions with many more areas added including of course China and South Korean.

For other changes, we don't know yet, as 'system stability' could be nothing at all, but its best to play it safe.

At 5:50pm Pacific time the Online network is going down, and when it returns at 8pm the firmware should be live.

For Nintendo it is two day job, so if they do not release the firmware tonight, they will do so tomorrow, they also shutting down Online network again tomorrow during the same hours.

Finally on Wed. night after 9pm they are removing all the Wii U stuff, so if you need something there, grab it now before it goes away forever! :)

Gary could you please if you're posting about sth like that also add this updates to main post... I know that always is good to read more pages than main... but good practice is add edits and updates as developers do, because about this info better is first read main thread and second to read last few pages or more. I am posting because you have better knowledge or info maybe from TX or sth els.
Thanks

PLEASE DO NOT UPDATE, UNTIL TOLD IT IS SAFE TO DO SO!
View attachment 155776

As the title suggests, Nintendo are looking to roll out the their latest Switch Firmware v7.0.0-30 within the next 48 hours, As such it is always wise to NOT UPDATE until developers and team's have checked out the update fully, And have released a notice to state it is safe to update!

So for now please stay on v6.2.0 and to enjoy your Switch fully! :)

Boy, I'm gonna update ASAP. (I don't plan to homebrew my switch until they stop making it.)

The children in this forum need to chill a little.
Does it matter if @garyopa claims the update is within 24-48 hours but it happens in 3 days?
Really you need to stop the bashing.
Yes maybe he does get some info wrong but dont we all at one point in our life.
Seriously please dont post any more @garyopa bashing comments and post constructive comments that will help.

Again, the issue is that Gary makes stuff up. If he just were to post what he knows without lies and idiotic commentary embedded in the post, no one would have an issue. The problem here is that Gary lies a lot.

No. He's making shit up. And he does it all the time.

He could just paste what he knows from the dev center and leave his BS out and all would be well.

Again, look at his history. See his post here, complete bullshit. https://gbatemp.net/goto/post?id=8233512#post-8233512

He has a long history of making shit up.

Even a tech illiterate person could call that 7.0 will happen and pretty much everyone says don't update no matter what is known so honestly him making this post shouldn't change anything for you considering the part that would be useful being the knowledge of what the update will do seems to be incorrect.

It seems to only say some software though....

I wouldn't take that to mean much. I would expect the first party games to go down, followed by the eShop being spotty, followed by the new update dropping on Monday.

It's not like Nintendo actually has to take down network services to roll out updates anyway.

Well, if it does go up in a few hours the @ylws8bot should pick up on it and we'll actually have reputable confirmation with it being on the server.

I can't find this post on that Twitter.

I will be updating my first post in the morning with more info.

But 7.0.0 is still coming will be 1000% next monday/tuesday update cycle.

Again I not hyping up things. Very little has changed 90% still the same so there not much to worry about.
Can you provide any source to your claims? Because you've said this before in the past and was proven wrong (by me on several occasions)

The Wii U eShop is not shutting down at the end of the month. Please separate the stuff you are leaking from the Dev Center from your idiotic commentary.

And, NO, you nimrod, they are not 'removing' all the Wii U games THEY ARE STILL CURRENTLY SELLING IN THE STORE from the CDN. Stop with your nonsense, we've all had enough.

I remind you that the last time you claimed stuff about a system update outside of you copy and paste from developer release notes, you were completely and utterly wrong. I dragged you publicly. This will happen yet again.
Weird that I saw the exact same info from someone on Discord a few days ago.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

i dont have an sd card adapter but I have an usb sd card adapter

    nvm it does support mine
