orboditilt updated JumpCallPop's JSTypeHax for the Wii U firmware 5.5.2, 5.5.3, 5.5.4, 5.5.5 and 5.5.6 and made it more stable! You know, the old one worked but needed a lot of tries and this was pretty annoying. So this new payload now works better, worked for me on the first try!

If you already have Haxchi installed, this is NOT for you!

Installing Haxchi is no longer recommended! Please use Aroma and Tiramisu!

Instructions

  1. Grab the Wii U Homebrew Launcher ELF and extract it to your SD card (make sure it is formatted as FAT32, not exFAT!)
  2. Grab the payload.elf file and extract it into "SD://wiiu/"
  3. OPTIONAL, but RECOMMENDED: Extract the Haxchi installer to your SD card and make sure you have a compatible haxchi game (e.g. Brain Age)
    1. Recommended: Use Tiramisu and Aroma
  4. Open the Wii U internet browser and clear the browser data through the settings (recommended)
  5. Navigate to u.wiidb.de and click the big "HAXX" link
  6. The Homebrew Launcher should load! From here you should install Haxchi to make your life easier.
Troubleshooting

This can happen, just try again. Also clear your browser settings, set u.wiidb.de as a bookmark, close the browser and reopen it again. Don't do too much other stuff in the browser or it won't work!
Format your SD card in FAT32.
You are missing the payload.elf file.

Host it yourself

I recommend only using u.wiidb.de as it will always be the latest version! Ensure you have PHP installed and enabled.
  1. Grab wiiuhaxx_common and extract the files to a directory "wiiuhaxx_common"
  2. One folder above, download all three PHP files from JSTypeHax and place them in there
  3. Place code550.bin in the same directory. Compile it from here or download a precompiled one here
So you have:
Code:
| ROOT
|- code550.bin
|- index.php
|- index-hax.php
|- wiiuhaxx_common_cfg.php
|- wiiuhaxx_common/
|-- wiiu_browserhax_common.php
|-- wiiuhaxx_loader.bin
|-- wiiuhaxx_rop_sysver_532.php (not really needed)
|-- wiiuhaxx_rop_sysver_550.php
|-- wiiuhaxx_searcher.bin

I switched to this (from loadiine) and now I can no longer launch the installed homebrew app (blackscreen freeze). Mii Channel and browser still works

What do you mean by "the installed homebrew app"? To be able to start any custom installed channel, you need a CFW.

I am using mocha cfw, and everything worked before using this exploit

You're right:
Browser exploit -> mocha -> hbl channel does not work, but
Haxchi -> mocha -> hbl channel also doesn't work...

Which entry worked for you this? What do you mean by "loadiine"?
And why exactly are you using the channel version (instead of simply using the mii maker?)

Just tested the "old" version of the exploit and it indeed started the channel, while the new one doesn't.
I think the "old" one uses the (outdated) hbl 1.3 installer, that is the only difference.
I'll look into it, thanks

Until then I would suggest you to simply use the mii maker. Using the channel after the browser exploit is pointless anyway.

This thread really isn't getting enough attention. Probably the biggest news on the wiiu scene in months.

For those of you using a web exploit and not haxchi/cbhc this has a 100% success rate. Tested it 13 times myself on HB 1.3 and HB 1.4 and I've had other helpers testing it also with 100% success rate.

Great work by all involved.

ohh, a new even more stable exploit :)
thank you for working on it and releasing it.

I'll see if I can update wiiu hacking guide to link to this thread.
hasn't been updated since September 2018.

Edit:
done!
Spent 4hours on it, hope it's good enough.

but that game barely runs at native 4k

I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports

they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling

They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great

so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously

Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?

Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM

i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus
