Has anyone got retroachievements to work with the switch? When I'm using the vita or my pc, it works without problem, but with the nintendo switch it doesn't register anything.

You need to copy the contents of the file, so just open it, copy everything and paste it at the end of the retroarch-core-options.cfg.

Amazing, thanks! if anybody else is stuck here you can edit the cfg file on mac using text editor.

I'd say super mario 64 running at 90% full speed 0 overclock. Definitely playable. Good work to all involved!

Ok, thanks a lot for offering help!
I am doing something wrong here, how do I copy the settings from the included txt to the retroarch-core-options.cfg in the /retroarch/ folder?
I simply copied the text doc to retroarch and nothing changed. I know this is a dumb question but cant work it out through trial and error.

So far I have:

added new core to cores library
added roms to rom library
added the text file to retroarch folder
loaded via homebrew takeover

ps. i know i'm close and thats exciting, never had n64 as a kid :D
Ignore the included text file its just showing the different settings the core has, you change the settings once you have loaded the core and started a game. Start a game and open the menu and go to options and change to the recompiler

cool, thanks! I'd say most games running 80-90% speed at standard CPU overclock
Not currently full screen

Yeah working very well here.
Guess I won't have to tell you you would have to log in from RA's settings first.
Also be sure to use a core that supports achievements.
I play NES games to earn achievements very often these days (Road Fighter, Contra ) and I have to use FCEUmm for that since nestopia doesn't support achievements.
Also many games still don't have achievements yet. That might be a reason as well.

Working here. Just signed in by entering my info in the RetroArch menus like normal.

Does Mario 64 run without significant issues currently? Thinking of transferring my save from Wii U and getting back to it, but am in no rush if there are still kinks to work out.

Hello, for the Dynarec(I think that's what its called) Retroarch i have to do a fresh install, install via NSP File and that's it? Im going to try this soon. Do i need to change something in the menus to run the N64 games more smoothly? (Yes i know this is a Beta)

I haven't played it yet with the Dynarec, but it works with no issues with overclocking. Some levels require more/less overclock but other than that I didn't encounter anything major. It's a current playthrough and I have 90+ stars so unless something breaks in the final two levels I think you should be fine.

It doesn't need to be a fresh install, but you have to either be using the installed NSP or sidelaunched NRO (launch through a game title). Then download the beta mupen64 w/ dynarec NRO from the Mega link that m4xw tweeted and replace it in the Retroarch/Cores folder on your SD card. Relevant settings to change:

Settings - Video - Threaded Video = On
Then after launching an N64 game:
Quick Menu - Options - CPU Core = dynamic_recompiler
Quick Menu - Options - Framebuffer Emulation = False

Then I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The only thing that I can think of is the DNS (90 DNS). I've even tried to copy the cheevo_token (which is not generating) from my vita, but to no avail...

hm...after some initial testing i found that some games run well, although every so often i get a skip. but when skips don't happen mario and ocarina of time run full speed. also if i restart a rom, it crashes. not when i close it though. also it takes a while to open a rom.

So, I'm using the XMB menu driver, and I turned on thumbnails and updated the thumbnail packs for the games I have. I have a number of NES and SNES games which would make for decently-sized lists, but not too many. The problem is that with thumbnails on, when I scroll through the lists heading towards the last entries, the scrolling gets progressively slower and choppy. Scrolling back up speeds it up again, almost like it's scanning everything prior to the current entry, so the further down the list I go, the longer it takes to finish doing whatever it's doing. Enabling the second thumbnail option to display two separate items for each game causes it to slow down sooner and chug longer.

Any shader recommendations for N64 on 4K TVs? I've been using Zfast CRT at 1080p res and it looks pretty nice. I'd like something a bit more scanliney though if that makes any sense.

No I'm usint 90DNS as well.
You are completely sure it's working for you on another platform (PC) with your account?

How big is your game list? My biggest is mame2003 plus around 110 games
In a relate note thumbnail support is coming to Ozone driver soon™

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
