I haven't set up Kai in a long time - nothing to do with his channel, but I'm literally just watching a youtube video by modzvilleusa so maybe that might help?

Are you refering to this guide ?

2:12 is where I can't go further into the tutorial because when he says it should open automatically a browser UI, it doesn't, but on tx's website they say you can manually open a browser and enter 127.0.0.1:34522 which should do the same, but unfortunately it just doesn't work(refused to connect, yes the engine is running). Might be a compatibility issue with Windows 7, although it doesn't specify that some windows versions are not supported. I think the Kai Engine just doesn't get installed properly it's just like it's not being detected even though I can see the process is running in task manager and the icon appears.

I currently use npcap which is the same as winpcap but should be better, I tried uninstalling npcap and installing winpcap - but the Kai engine didn't even start(the logo appears for a second and then auto exits), so I had to go back to npcap. Probably some kind of a compatibility issue.

What? I was sure I saw it on the xlink list of available working games? Hmmm...

Edit: Oh you right, my bad

That's what I said though?
Sounded more like you were comparing Xlink to switch-lan-play and saying Xlink works on unmodded consoles making it better. He was saying switch-lan-play does that too.

I'll try installing Xlink Kai tomorrow (I'm also a windows 7 64bit user) - I had to reset my password tonight and it's locked me out for too many failed attempts at the moment. I'll let you know how it goes.

EDIT: silly question.. do you have two network interfaces in your computer? You need both a wireless network card (to connect to the switch) AND an ethernet / wired cable connection to your router. You cannot wirelessly connect to your router with the Switch.

Everything that happened in the above video happened exactly the same as me, however I never found a room, even when my friend hosted one several times. Gave up after 3 hours lol

Um what? Xlink works great for me with the Switch connected wirelessly to my router.

as said, I haven't installed XLink Kai recently, but according to the instructions on the Xlink Kai website it doesn't work direct with the wireless on the router. Maybe they need to update their instructions.

Switch can be connected via Wi-Fi either if your PC with XLink client is connected via cable or your PC with the client has Wi-Fi card with monitor and promiscuous mode.

I solved my issue, uninstalled Kai, uninstalled npcap, deleted the Xlink Kai forder in the User > AppData > Roaming, rebooted and did a clean installation of Kai which triggered the installation of WinPcap, installed WinPcap then the firewall asked if I want to let this thing have access to stuff, I allowed the access and then it fianally auto-launched the webUI and finally it connected and didn't refuse the connection. Not sure what the problem was to be honest.

What you're describing is the PSP/Vita ad-hoc set up. As of now, XLink only supports Switch games played via LAN/(infrastructure) mode. Connecting to your router via WiFi on the Switch is supported.

Yes, don't use the quick start guide. We haven't gotten around to updating it yet.

Possibly a registry issue? Not sure. You should be able to use Npcap in WinPcap-api compatible mode.

I used to use this service all the time back on RGH Xbox 360 and quite frankly forgotten about it. While setting it up, I was like.. HMMM. I see PS4 on there. Checked out the FAQ for that system and hope that modding community works out the kinks with firmware updates.

Merry Christmas guys!

Im just thinking:

I have a small server @ home that runs nextcloud and ts. Is there any possibility to install XlinkKai on that machine, so i can play my multiplayer games on the go via mobile internet from my smartphone?

This would be pretty nasty :D

I just searched the internet for any guides or information regarding that, unfortunately i didnt find anything. Ideas?

Need to make sure, probably said already but this really blocks Nintendo servers. Not asking for myself because I’m already banned but for another switch that never used cfw or changed any internet settings to block Nintendo servers. When I installed Xlink Kai the other day another switch using my internet connected to it and I really don’t want that switch to get banned.

XLink stop yours Switch from connecting online through the network config assigned via DHCP (invalid on most home networks). If you set this manually, it'll permanently stay offline. Alternatively, just keep 90 DNS set at all times.

i cant connect my console to xlink. I have added a static ip. Then i start the game and open the lan mode but i cant see my console in the metrics. If i want to take the dhcp it always takes the ip from the router. has anybody an idea.
