so i have a switch at 6.0.1 that never been hacked, i ordered sxpro and will be getting it next week, i have downloaded a bunch of xcis with updates ,and have an external hard drive for games(250gb) and an sd card (128gb)for emunand and some more games, how should i prepare my hard drive in the meantime? i will assume exfat is better for the games, so i guess a regular format to exfat?? and also what will the folders structure should look like for xcis and updates ?

thanks in advance..

Do we know something about the new EmuNAND from TX? Is it ""safe""? Any reverse engineering that shows anything we need to know?
Its safer than it was previously since its now on the SD card as opposed to the NAND. Whether its 100% safe or not is yet to be seen but given that no one has been banned for using their old EmuNAND, this one should follow the same trend.
hi everyone
i got a switch today on 4.1.0 and im trying to boot in to atmos or renix ,i have another switch on 6.1 and im able to use my rcm loader to boot in to cfw
but for 4.1.0 i only get a black screen is 5.1 and upwards only able to boot using rcmloader
or as im now using fat32 do need to setup the card different untill i update the firmware for the card
thank you for any help
Your Switch is not supporting exFAT. There is really no need for using exFAT as it can corrupt your SD card which can lead to the loss of everything you have on there which includes homebrew, games, updates, and DLC (but not saves as those are stored on the NAND). But if you really want exFAT support, use the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX.
I'd been thinking about getting an sx pro during the summer but put it off, but now I'm thinking about it again since Pokemon wants me to upgrade my firmware (I'm currently on 3.0.1 or whatever it is right after 3.0). I'm only really interested in playing emulators and games that I bought (either game carts or stuff off the store), I don't care about "backups" and the like. If I get an SX Pro will I be able to upgrade to a firmware that'll let me play my game carts and buy stuff off the store (since I know things like Bayonetta and LA Noire will require an extra download)?
Yes, use SX Pro to load the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX and the Internet to acquire the firmware files that feed into ChoiDujourNX to update your firmware without burning fuses.

Not sure if the console needs exFAT support to read an exFAT formatted HDD but if you do, you can do that with the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX. As for the folder structure, consult the 2.3 Beta Thread.
If I rename lets go eeve xci something else and copy it over to the SD, will it still load up the same save?
Or can I have multiple copies of the same game as XCI.
Saves are stored on the NAND and are read per Title ID, not game format. .XCI and .NSP are filled with the same .NCA files anyway, just built and unpacked differently on the Switch.

I'm updating to 6.1.0 firmware and I have two buttons, one is 6.1.0 and one is 6.1.0 (exFAT) I dont remember having this choice last time I updated.
I have a 128gb sdcard so I am assuming I select the exfat version?

I had updated a game in the past. Got a new sd card so I deleted the data off my old one, apparently this included update data for that game. I couldn't figure out how to move data from sd to internal storage. Now game wont run since its the unpatched 1.0 cart and I can't download just the game update without system updating?

I feel so dumb, guess I won't be playing that game in particular until 6.2 eventually gets cracked since I'm sitting on 6.1

i have a switch on 4.1 that refuses to boot into any cfw, but the same card will boot into cfw on my 6.1 switch ,using the same rcmloader device and jig

now i bought this 4.1 on ebay is there a way to check to see if the maybe someone has tried a paperclip in it and damaged any pins they look ok,
or is there any other reason that i may have missed out on checking to see why is will not boot

thanks for any advice

Format the SD card to FAT32 and then use the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX to have exFAT on any firmware you feed it. If the SD card is bigger than 32 GB, you will have to use a third-party software such as GUIFormat.
...
I read some tutorials... it seems perfectly fine to my needs!
Thank you very much!

New here. Just got my SX OS. I was wondering how to use the USB storage ? Can I just copy paste XCI/NSP files to the root of the drive? Is there anything special I should know? Thanks.

Thx Draxzelex. I tried ChoiDujourNX but it starts updating the CFW instead of OFW. Can you please direct me to a guide or video which shows how to update OFW using ChoiDujourNX?

Much appreciated.
Thx

Is the serial number of the 4.1 patched? You can check those in the pinned serial numbers thread.

You can read the 2.2 Beta thread which was the version that added HDD support for further instructions.

The ChoiDujourNX thread has sufficient instructions on how to not only use it (with pictures) but also where to find the firmware files.

Don't know if this would indicate a damaged unit but see if the Joy-Cons work wirelessly and docked on the 4.1 unit. If the pins are really damaged beyond repair, then it should affect the right Joy-Con being detected.

the joycons work wirless, i will try docking but going by the serial i think it might be a 50/50 but i did suspect a iffy usb c port

Thanks, I'm reading up on this and a still a little confused sorry (shame this isn't as simple as the psp days). Since ChoiDujourNX is an updater should I just backup my nand while still on 3.0.2, use ChoiDoujourNX to update to 6.2 without burning fuses when I want to play games, use the store or go online then downgrade whenever I want to run homebrew? Or can the SX run the emulators on whatnot while in 6.2?

Alternatively would it be a good idea to just back-up, upgrade to 6.2 with Choi, and hope that a cfw comes out for it soon?

I have been playing Zelda BOTW for the last few months and have been wanting to play the DLC. If I install a custom firmware, am I able to download the DLC from somewhere and continue playing the game on my cartridge?

Okay so I have done a full nand backup on my untouched 6.1 console.
If I would upgrade to 6.2 right now would I then be able to downgrade to 6.1 again?
I assume I would have to boot with Hekate due to the fuse check but it should work right?
