I've hacked my 3ds so it's not that part that's difficult, it's the part about backing up the nand whenever I want to play a pirated game and then switch back.
Yeah that's why I'm waiting for an actual emuNAND (not the on-nand one SX OS uses, one on SD). Then I can keep sysNAND clean and emuNAND for homebrew/piracy

For now, I can always go back to my sysNAND backup I made prior to doing anything else. But for now, I can't figure out if I want to just use ReiNX or use Atmosphère.

Hello, needing a little help regarding "restoring" nand/emmc. I did a full backup so my switch has the rawnand.bin, when i tried to restore, i would get this message ""Error (4) While opening backup, continuing." so i need some insight on fixing this issue

So I was able to successfully install and launch Dark Souls on firmware 5.0 meaning it uses the 5.X masterkey so I know it does not require firmware 6.0. However when the game launched, it didn't detect any network settings (because I was in Airplane Mode) but I was able to continue the game in offline mode. So you probably had the console connected to the Internet and/or downloaded the system update which prevented you from playing the game.

None of the above. My console has been in airplane mode ever since I started using CFW.

Again, I never installed Dark Souls. The two games that I was unable to launch in 5.0.1 but could launch in 6.1 are Starlink and Zarvot.

I would like your opinion on something. I have a switch that hasn't been touched yet and not even been in touch with the sx dongle or other cfw. I just dumped the 6.1 nand, that's it. I am giving this switch to the family for Christmas so I won't be using it until then. Do you think I should wait a month longer for maybe ninty to release another fw (given the sx os is still compatible) and team x to maybe release a new version with better emunand, until I do anything, for safety measures?

Good day Guys.

First of all, sorry for my bad english, I am from Germany.

So I read a lot in this Forum, but I still have a Question about my "project".

At the moment I am using Reinx on my Switch with Firmware 6.01 and I am very happy with it. I am using a 3d-printed Jig for launching in Reinx with Tegrasmash Gui.

I just ordered (and received) a "Switchme" internal Modchip from Team Rebug.

So my Question is: Is the following method possible?

1. Activate AutoRCM on my current setup with Reinx Toolkit

2. Installing the Switchme (4 Wire setup "Method 1")

3. Installing Hekate on the Switchme

4. Installing Reinx on the internal SD-Card

So when I Power on the Switch, it should boot into the bootloader Hekate without any Jig and external device (PC, Laptop etc.).

From there on, I want to choose "booting Reinx" or "booting OFW" (AFAIK Hekate gives you those options).

Could anyone tell me, if this is possible?

Thanks in Advance

I have a question. Let's say I decide to use SX OS to use homebrew or play some backups. Now what happens if I boot the Switch into the normal FW and only play the games I legally own online? Will that get me banned? Also, would it make a difference If I swap out MicroSDs for when I use the CFW and the OFW? I was curious because I want to have physical carts of games that I actually want to play online if this is possible.

I am new to the scene but I have learned one lesson so far:at the moment there is no a setup that save 100% from ban. I think in your case there are traces of mod in your nand, so even if the risk is reduced, you could be banned even playing your original carts.

Hi all,

I am about to install ReiNX on my Switch. Before I start I have some questions.

1. I plan to remove the Nintendo Account that is linked to the current user profile on the switch. I am not sure if it make sense to create a new user as well (without linking a Nintendo Account) and delete the old one.

2. I want so preserve my current save games and use them on the custom firmware. Is that possible?

3. Do you recommend any other steps to perform before installing ReiNX?

4. I noticed that the first offical Atmosphère custom firmware 0.7.x has been released a few days ago. For me is sounds like that the more stable custom firmware is ReiNX at the moment. Where is the main difference between these custom firmwares?

Thanks a lot

Hrm..... I see. I'm still reading up like crazy before I homebrew my switch. I have a ton of legally owned games which is why it would be a shame to lose access to any official updates/DLC and (future upgraded) Nintendo online. I was really hoping as long as I never attempted to log online with the backups and only went online with games I have actual carts of I would be fine; specifically I thought I would be okay if I just booted int OFW when I wanted to play online with the games i physically own. Too bad....

Can someone please tell me how do I update fw if I'm using SX OS? Do I boot into OFW and update it normally? What is the ban risk for doing that?

I am in your same situation. Try to read ban reports in the specific thread here so you'll get an idea of what could be your ban risk playing original carts online whyle modded
