Nintendo made a booboo with the dock. Not only that it scratches your switch it also traps heat which can cause bent and warped switches.
If this is the case, I wonder if using a dock-compatible hard case around the Switch will rewarp the device plastic back into place upon dock usage? Like a cast around a broken limb. Hmm.

I used my switch almost exclusively in handheld at launch and it still ended up being bent, so I'm doubtful the dock is the problem.
Plus when docked I used and extension cable and the playstand

The constant bending and warping is what causes cracks.

Guys, I use a custom cooling solution that works 100% in preventing bends or cracks.

I just bought a fan that slots onto the dock and looks completely stock instead, just makes it a little thicker. Not the one with 3 fans on that sticks out of the back and looks ugly but one that actually looks like part of the dock. Makes plugging in the cables a bit harder though.
But, the Switch still gets warm. Maybe it helps a little, but I think the heatsink is just too small to efficiently carry all the heat away so It limits how effective cooling fans will be.

If the whole thing is appearing bent, then it has nothing to do with the external moulded panels.

It is actually the cast aluminium mid-frame that is out of shape.

what's the direction of the airflow? Because in my setup the air blows on the side so it effectively blows on the front and back of the switch. I can play the switch for 4+ hours and it barely gets warm.

Lol reminds me of how I used to baby my Switch for the first couple months, now Im tossing it around hack it slash it super ban idgaf, the system takes a beat like any other Nintendo product.
