@Draxzelex mate I have successfuly installed .NSP game onto my NAND using 4nxci > then using SX OS to install it and everything works. I only received 2 errors while converting to nsp they were

"
[WARN]: Failed to match key "encrypted_header_key", (value "MYVALUE")
[WARN]: Failed to match key "eticket_rsa_kek", (value "MYKEY")"

Everything good mate? ;) Can I go online with this or its more dangerous than the CFW itself?

Anything with CFW is considered dangerous especially now that Nintendo is banning users who don't even pirate/use backups but stick to only homebrew.

hmmm okay so right now im backing up my nand. in the hekate guide it says to backup my keys how to do that
This is why I don't like that guide (I'm assuming you're referring to Canna's) because it pre-bundles everything rather than having the individual download the items themselves. I've never followed his guide nor taken a look at his pre-packaged files, but if I had to take a guess, its probably under Launch Configurations -> Payloads. Or you can just run the payload that directly dumps them from the link I just sent you (please tell me you at least clicked it).

FYI Hekate does not dump the biskeys; it is a completely separate payload.

Can i please ask about Nand back ups.
I did a nand back up on 5.1.0 and below it was i got.
Partitions Folder (Empty), Restore Folder (Empty), BOOTO, BOOT1 + rawnand.bin (29.1gb).

I then did a back up of my newer console on 3.0.2 and i got below.
Partitions Folder, Restore Folder, BOOTO, BOOT1 + rawnand.bin00 through to 14.

Question is with rawnand.bin on the 3.0.2 backup can i merge the 00 - 14 .bin files together or do i need them to stay seperate?

Thanks

If you wish to ever restore the rawnand.bin, you will need to restore them. There are some joiner scripts that you can use to merge them in the Releases tab of the Hekate GitHub.

Is it ok to leave as is?
Thanks

I'm saying you don't have to rejoin them for now but if you ever want to restore your NAND, they have to be rejoined because you cannot restore your NAND in multiple parts. Also yes, there are scripts to join the multiple .bin files on Hekate's GitHub.

Hi guys! I'm going to install Reinx this weekend, but before doing that, i'd like to know more about some very stupid questions. The first one shouldn't even be asked, but i still feel the danger, while the other one has already been asked, but i'm just too confused now( too many different opinions).

-A friend lent me Zelda. I'm going to hack my console, he's not going to. Now, Can he be banned?
I know it's a very stupid question, but i don't want to mess up anything not mine. To update the game, i linked my profile with a nintendo account, upgrading the firmware to 5.1(i was on 4.1) .Before the 6.0 came out, i disocciated the nintendo account with my Switch profile(i read it couldn't be possible anymore). I'm sure there are some logs or stuff like this on my console. Now, If in a remote future i decide to access to internet, will he risk a bann too? I mean, they'll see i had a game which was\is the same played on another nintendo Switch, and that this game has even been played on a hacked console(not yet). Could they bann any other console which used this game then? Has anyone reported anything like this? Could he risk anything if we decidedto play some games in lan? This is my biggest fear at the moment. I'm going to delete its update, but i don't think it will change something.

-About Rcm.
I do not have much free time, so i will not play a lot, and i'd like to fully turn off the Switch. However, i think i will upgrade to 6.0 via ChoiDujourNX because of game compatibility, and since i would not use the jig more, the AutoRcm enabled should be a main option. Now, If i fully turned off my upgraded console, and i turned it on like the first time(jig/vol+Up), shouldn't my fusee still be "alive"? Or that's just my mind overthinking?

Ah, what about the dongle? Any reasons about buying a cheap one?(I haven't understood yet if it has some pros or it's useful if you're only very lazy).

So I am CDN/console banned on my switch. Didn't back up my NAND (Dumb oversight) Never went online though with CFW, never modded or backed up my saves or pirated anything other than GBA roms. Didn't care at first if I got banned because at the time it was my understanding that you could still download new firmwares and game updates. Most of the games out right now aren't great imo so I primarily use it for homebrew and emulation anyway. Come to find that I now cannot update or play any of my legally owned games like Super Mario Odyssey that I have on cartridge and cannot update my firmware. Thing is basically useless now in OFW. So what are my options like what can I do with it at this point what other capabilities can I do with homebrew? Can I update the software offline, is there a method to this? Nintendo basically has me backed into a corner now with no option other than really buy a new switch or pirate games that I actually would have paid for. I don't even know how to go about pirating games if I wanted to. If pirate discussion is not allowed I do apologize but am interested to learn more. If so, if someone could PM me more info I would much appreciate. (Sidenote, kinda pissed at Nintendo because if they would create a means of allowing people to play old GBA games and such, I'd happily pay for it, theres clearly a market for it still, they could monetize it, capitalize on that market, and also discourage homebrew for people who just want to play old games. Their online service is a fucking joke anyway.)

  • If you ever play a game online while a console is hacked and someone else plays that same game online as well, then there's a chance any Switch associated with that game will get banned
  • If you play a game locally with a hacked Switch, they do not communicate any information that would lead to a ban. Nintendo wouldn't half-haphazardly ban someone who played with a hacked Switch because you don't necessarily know the console was hacked.
  • To turn off a console with AutoRCM, it must be powered off from RCM. A full list of options can be found here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/psa-man...es-not-turn-off-a-switch-with-autorcm.515402/
  • AutoRCM ensures that the console will boot into RCM AUTOmatically (meaning you enter RCM without a jig). The fuses will only be burnt if you boot the console without RCM

We can do pretty much everything offline with hacks such as updating firmware with the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX and installing game updates in .NSP format with a title installer such as Rommenu, DevMenu, and Tinfoil. If you could also submit a ban report here, I would greatly appreciate it: https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendo-switch-banning-hub-warning.508710/

I have one final suggestion. Make a backup of the entire SD card that doesn't work, or at least the Nintendo folder, and copy the Nintendo folder from the SD card that works onto the one that doesn't work.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

NAND is your internal system memory while SD card is...your SD card. Games are slightly faster when installed into the internal memory and games installed into the SD card will only launch when the SD card is inserted, but outside of that, there are no other differences between the two.

Ok, here is what I did, problem persists but I have a little more info I guess.

-Downloaded NSP update for the Xenoblade in my new SD. It's update 1.5.1, and I need 2.0.0 in order to launch the game. As mentioned before, I installed 2.0.0 from official servers in my old SD card but my console SUPPOSEDLY has the update data stored...

-I go in and check the information of the Xenoblade 2 xci pressing + in the home menu, it's version 1.5.1. As I'm CDN banned I can't access online anymore to download again.

-I made a backup of my new SD Card Nintendo folder, and copy the old one into the new one. Games working fine and all but Xenoblade is still 1.5.1 and can't launch it.

In any case I'll just look for and download 2.0.0 as NSP but this is making me very curious. I want to take this as a chance to learn because I don't get why an update would work for an xci file in one SD card but not in other.

I bought a brand new Switch a little while back with the intention of hacking it. I don't remember enabling my wifi, but if I did it was only to play Mario Odyssey, the only game I have ever inserted into the console. Somehow I am on v5.1.0. Am I screwed here? What is the lowdown on my situation here? How will this affect my ability to play games (both released and not yet released) off the internal storage or SD card at a later date? Should I get a new Switch?

EDIT: I just got a code for Splatoon 2 and I assume I need to access eShop, which is prompting me to update yet again. Can it matter at all (for now or in the future) whether I upgrade?

Firmware is irrelevant when it comes to hacking the Switch as the current exploit used to load CFW (Fusee Gelee) relies on the hardware of the console, not the software it is running. We determine hardware by comparing the serial numbers of patched and unpatched units as found in this thread. A rule of thumb is that if it was bought before July 2018, then its most likely unpatched. And while Nintendo cannot patch the exploit with future firmware updates, they can break CFW on the higher firmwares. As it stands, 5.1 is still currently the best firmware for CFW as every hack works as well as every game currently available. The only reason a user would update to firmware 6.X is if they want to play online which is not a good idea for a hacked console.

I really appreciate your response and your time. Since my console is not hacked yet, and I am not planning to do so right away, what are the consequences for me of updating to 6.x? I had always kind of figured that once I hacked the console I would never be going online with it again. If I play online and accept updates for 5 years, and then hack the console, can I be any worse off for having updated all that time?

Off the top of my head, an application known as DevMenu is not supported on firmwares 6.X. There is also increased telemetry on higher firmwares meaning running CFW & homebrew on 6.X is more likely to get you banned than running it on lower firmwares. The general rule is still the lower the better because newer firmwares introduce anti-hacking measures. For example, 3DS firmware 11.8 initially broke the CFW Luma even though the exploit, B9S, works on all 3DS models. Although it was eventually fixed, incidents like these indicate that always updating to the latest firmware while using CFW is going to cause issues. And as I said 5.1 is still the best firmware for CFW.

Thanks! I may not have been totally clear. My console is not hacked, and once I do hack it and install CFW I will never be going online with it again. I just want to make sure I can go online and keep upgrading now, without fear of problems in the future. I may end up on 20.x with an unhacked console, but would I then still be able to hack the system at that point without losing any important features or (game) compatibility?

My previous statements still stand. Lower firmware are still better for CFW while higher firmware will not have access to all benefits of lower firmware even though all firmware is exploitable. I gave you examples of hacks you lose while being on firmware 6.0; there will likely be more firmware-exclusive hacks moving forward as Nintendo releases more firmware. The only benefit to being on the latest firmware is for online play and games but if you don't plan on going online, then there is no reason to update to 6.X now as no game, update, or DLC requires that firmware.

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.
