Nintendo should've never remade Ocarina of Time because now they kinda have to remake Majora's Mask too which will never measure up to the original. Even the 3DS remake was iffy.
 
The old "show, don't tell" guideline in narrative works should be updated to "show, don't post it in some unrelated Twitter comment thread"
Stuff that isn't actually included in the work doesn't count. You want that stuff to be part of the work? Edit it in. Second edition, director's cut, I don't care.

I've become a watch person recently. I don't wear them to tell the time, I wear them because wearing such a nice thing does wonders for my self confidence. It's a piece of jewelry.

Unpopular opinion... I played GTA V until I realized the cops were back to the way they always were. I was so naive and hopeful they'd make it fun like in Chinatown Wars from there on... So I have about 60 minutes of gameplay in V. Hate it, don't care about the next number.

I also think it gets boring as shit to go from point A to point B in those games, it's like commuting to work after a few missions... That's what I like about Red Dead with the campfires... Maybe the taxi was just as good in GTA, never once used them.

You know, I disliked Saints Row 3 for its unapologetic commuting. Since you could activate a mission anywhere, there was no thoughtful design to the beginning of most missions. You select a mission, it gives you your morning commute, you go there, then you'll likely have to travel to the actual challenge.

It wasn't too much "back and forth." It was more like too much "forth and more forth."

I haven't played GTAV, so I don't know if it changes anything about mission structure. I'm guessing it's the standard "go here for your mission" GTA design. At least, I hear GTAV's driving is more balanced than the "slip 'n slide" experience of GTAIV.

I still have no idea who approved of GTAIV's driving physics. They probably watched playtesters sloshing around and still said, "this is perfect."
 
GTA4 put me off the franchise and burned me out on sandbox games at the same time. The constant bitching and nagging on the mobile phone was just too much, and if you didn't drop what you were doing and baby the cryhard on the other line making demands you'd basically get like a hit out on you put on their black list. The game was hyper one sided sensitive too about violence from the moment you walk out from a fresh game. If you so much as bump into someone, cops open fire. If someone punches you, it's cool, if you self defense, you're dead. SO many poor design choices, too many aggravating distractions, maybe it was patched out after some months into it or more to be less obnoxious but I had long stopped caring. After that red dead was the only one for me to enjoy for awhile, got fairly far into it, but the damn near perfection needed on timed wagon races that were forced, I quit on it with the second later one in game and never went back.
 
Chaotic free roaming was always what attracted me to GTA the most, I really never bothered with the story. The online mode in V was fun until those broken flying bikes.
