Guys... Can anyone please help me with trying to get FS.kip1out of a 4.1.0 game "Owlboy" in order to make my Switch see exFAT micro SD card eventually... To cut the problem short: when I drag-and-drop Owlboy.xci on the Patch.bat I don't get the process to even start...

I get the following, please help, I am going to cry soon:
"
Failed to convert C:\Users\╧юы№чютрЄхы№ to UTF-16!
ERROR:
Could not open input file
- System error: (3) The system cannot find the path specified.

Не удается найти указанный файл.
Системе не удается найти указанный путь.
Не удается найти указанный файл.
Системе не удается найти указанный путь.
Системе не удается найти указанный путь.
Для продолжения нажмите любую клавишу . . ."

I don't know... I think it is something that I haven't got installed on my computer or something... Any advice is welcome !!!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but the error literally says "System error: (3) The system cannot find the path specified"...

I think the program cannot find the file path because part of the file path is in Ukrainian. Have you tried moving all the files to a location which only has English characters (I mean non-Cyrillic, I hope I got that right) in the file path?

EDIT: Also, the procedure you are describing sounds oddly familiar...Are you by any chance using a Youtube video to try and apply the exfat update?

Why aren't you just using ChoiDujourNX?

Dude, I am a completely new to this. I just bought R4S yesterday, had no time to understand all of this stuff... Well, yeah, I am using a YouTube video ! Is this "ChoiDujourNX" any good ?

Hi, i try to translate an Homebrew App. Does anybody know how to print Umlauts like äöü in Homebrews?

That's totally fair. Sorry If I came off as rude. My point is that the I believe the video you are using have bricked quite a few Switches because the creator did a really poor job with the video. is this the video you are using?

At any rate, yes, ChoiDujourNX would be a lot better for this type of thing. Go here and read up on it: https://gbatemp.net/threads/choiduj...ller-homebrew-for-the-nintendo-switch.513416/

It's a Firmware Installer that allows you to install any Firmware onto your Switch, and as an added bonus, can also give you the exfat support you desire. You could just reinstall the same FW that you already have, but chose to get the exfat update while "updating".

HOWEVER, before you do anything: If you haven't yet done a Nand backup, I strongly suggest you do this before you continue with anything else hacking related, including using ChoiDujour (or following that video tutorial), because then you can always restore your Switch if something happens to it later.

To do a Nand backup, read up on Hekate here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/rcm-payload-hekate-ctcaer-mod.502604/ and backup both rawnand.bin AND the boot0/boot1 files! What you want to do is select the "full backup" options in hekate. Once you have done this, you can continue with adding exfat support to the Switch.

Is this still the correct method to add exfat support? Seems like their should be an different method since May. https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...tch-console-on-any-ofw-without-update.505182/

So to give you some background, I accidently updated from 5.1 to 6. I got everything backup and running but need to get exfat support. Can I do a new firmware backup and then stick the backup into choiDujourNX and enable exfat? Which file do I move if that is possible.

Hm, would a complete system reset get rid of that system update notification, cus it really really bugs me..
That has to be cleared by entering maintenance mode which is similar to entering RCM except that you hold volume + and - when turning the console on (without shorting pin 10). The update will be deleted automatically when you enter this mode.

The homebrew application ChoiDujourNX is the best method to add exFAT with.

Can someone go into more detail about the cart reader fuse? Updating from 3.0.2 I need to use some kind of patch for the cart reader so I can keep using my retail copies of games?

Also is there a way to format my 128gb SD card to FAT32 on ANDROID?

If you're already on 6.0, you can also get the exFAT patch by inserting an exFAT formatted SD card and downloading the update from Nintendo after pressing the prompt (something about SDXC support).

The gamecart slot doesn't have a fuse; it has its own CPU meaning its separate from the NAND. So far, it only has one update which is found on firmware 4.0 that when applied, renders it unusable on firmwares below 4.0 and is irreversible.

i kinda found a solution but that would mean loosing all my dl´d games bc deleting my profile would get rid of it.

Man, thank you very much ! But is there any other reason but to have a 32 gb micro sd ? Will 16 gb do ? Or will it be too little for the backup ? I don't want to buy a yet another one...

You can dump the NAND in parts if the SD card doesn't have the free space available or is formatted as FAT32.

Just got Hekate CFW booting on my 4.0.1 switch and when i try and go online, it says i need to register first and update the
firmware. Is there any way round updating, or doesnt it matter anymore?

thanks

Does 90dns have to be In the router settings? Would just putting it on the system work? I don't have router access.
You alter the DNS settings when you are entering the Wi-Fi settings on your Switch. The thread has more fleshed out instructions.

You can't go online without being on the latest firmware.
