Highly doubt it will use cartridges. Will probably have like 20 or 30 pre-installed games like the mini NES/SNES.
EDIT: Just read the article. They will need to release an app so you play the games.

This may be the sole reason I get a smartphone in the future.

But then again, smartphones make all of my friends into zombies.

So maybe not, but the case is enticing regardless.

I expect some kind of Nintendo Switch Online-esque thing but with gameboy for the smart app...hey wait, what if that IS the case?

It's a phone case like a regular phone case that you put over your phone. The buttons will act instead of your finger for the touch screen and it will probably be a custom game where the screen will be outputted above

Yeah just read the article. I'm guessing they'll release an app where you can purchase GameBoy games or maybe a subscription service (hopefully not the latter).

Looks like the screen is just a windo to view your phone. The buttons seem to be capacitive touch type to contact your screen on your phone. Seems like there would be an app included with the games. There seems to be no screen on the case. Just a type of controller. It’ll probably use gba4ios lol.

Hopefully, if there's an app with it, it's not purely for iOS or purely for Android, it'd be nice to see it accommodate both, as well as sold in various sizes, so people with different phones can use it. Not everyone has the latest and "greatest" giant phones.
