Check the first post of this thread under "Best way to Avoid Bans"

Thanks! The first post has grown indeed!

It is quite complicated, I wish there were an easier way to do it.. Like select an option for it to backup everything xD. I'll read it several times to make sure I don't mess anything up
It there any possibility to screw something up while performing the NAND backup?

Ok so you told me that im not safe if I play online with the hbmenu on my switch. But am I safe if I play online without the hbmenu on my switch?

Traces of CFW can only be removed by restoring a NAND backup with Hekate before hacking the console. Without that, your best bet is to perform a factory reset but this doesn't remove all traces of hacking such as erroneous error logs if homebrew ever crashed on you.

So am I likely to get banned?

So am I likely to get banned?
I can't say for sure. What I can say is that there have been an increasing number of homebrew only bans for users on firmware 6.0. Although they are outnumbered by all of the bans related to piracy, bans for only homebrew are on the rise.

Draxzelex just to say thank you for all the work done, and yes page 1 of the thread has evolved well, and a lot of useful information
By the way, your answer just above is on page 1.

What's so difficult about it? Like the restoration menu android, you choose what you want dump, boot 0, boot1 press the A button to validate and 10 seconds later you have the dump boot, then choose emmc wait one hour ,and you have rawnand.bin ,what's so difficult? Did you just throw hekate to see?
The risk is higher when writing nand ,if the backup fails where is the problem? We're just starting the backup again. Oh, yeah, put in a 32-Go sd card or 64 go exfat, I don't teach you anything here?
My own nand with 2 games, fortnite, palladins holds on a 32 go, but it depends on the sd card, reserved memory, otherwise put a 64go like that you are cool
And to your question about the battery
During the 29GB dump, the switch goes to sleep screen, so it's fine for the battery, but of course it's better to be in mains charging, but if you have 100% battery it's okay, I've done it 3 times without worries.
Oh yes don't do like me the first time, update the switch for exfat support, otherwise no dump nand.
IMPORTANT
So first of all hack do the exfat update, then don't forget to put the switch in airplane before the dump nand, otherwise ,when you go restored, you will be vulnerable with wifi

Finally banned. left switch on sleep mode overnight, wanted to check new eshop games and got the error. using reinx on 6.0
To be fair, you also indicated you used LayeredFS, both offline and online so not quite sure I want to put all the blame on ReiNX but it may have contributed. By the way, is it a CDN ban or a normal ban?

Don't new sdfiles dump all crash logs to sd and not at all on nand? Unless you get an online error in CFW you should be fine, right?
Yes although I wouldn't take a CFW online in the first place. Who knows what nasty things it is doing to the NAND that may be sent to Nintendo.

Thanks KHEOPS.
@Draxzelex, if you prefer me not to ask these questions in this topic, let me know :). I think it can be valuable help for any user.

  1. To backup up the NAND completely, is it enough to dump boot0, boot1 and the raw nand or is it necessary also to backup the battery, fuses, etc as told in the guide?
  2. So, if something happens while restoring the NAND, you just start again, no worries of bricking the console?
  3. Currently, my Switch is on firmware 6 and I have a 256 GB SD card on exFat format... So, I assume that the Switch has everything needed, no need to install the exFat driver, right?
  4. If the new Switch I get is on firmware 5, to install exFat support, would it be ok to insert a new SD Card and let the system install the necessary files? I can delete the wifi settings after.

  1. A complete NAND backup comprises of boot0/boot1 and rawnand.bin. Everything else is needed for other purposes and cannot be restored since those are part of the hardware unlike the aforementioned items.
  2. As long as the console has battery and can enter RCM, you can always recover from a brick. The only scenario where you won't be able to is if your PRODINFO partition gets corrupted and you do not have a backup of it.
  3. exFAT is installed irregardless of firmware. You can get exFAT on any firmware except 1.0. However if you want to get exFAT officially, you have to be on the latest firmware and insert an exFAT formatted SD card in OFW.
  4. See #3
Should I worry abut getting banned tho?
The only downside to being banned is playing online. Everything else can be accomplished with hacks

What I meant to say is that if Im likely to get banned for playing online.
If you play any backups via CFW, your more likely to get banned than doing anything else. However, that's not to say the risk with using homebrew alone is zero either, especially on firmware 6.0. At the end of the day, Nintendo decides who to ban so we are not the ones who decide if you will be banned or not.
