Hacking Question How can i get rid of cfw with a low/no risk of being banned?

Hi im on 5.1 on my nintendo switch and wish to get rid of my cfw and format my sd card, and boot into official firmware so that i can download the 6.0 update and play online again. is there anyway i can safely do this with a low or no risk of getting banned? only things i've done in cfw is use layered fs to mod skyrim (albiet briefly) and to download a gameboy emulator i forget the name of atm.

oh and atm im not banned so this isn't about getting around a current ban this is me wanting to avoid getting myself banned. i am fine with wipeing my switch to do so

Just restarting your system and deleting all cfw stuff on the SD card should be good enough (and remove autorcm if you have that)

That will still leave the error logs. When some Homebrew application threw any errors in the past, they will be visible there.

The best way to get a clean nand would be to restore a nand backup from before you started to modify your Switch.

If you go into setting Support/Health & Safety, Error History and there’s any error that doesn’t have the name of an application on it then it could be a homebrew error

If you didn't make a NAND backup before hacking, it is currently impossible to "uninstall" CFW (FYI it was never installed in the first place). There are traces of having used CFW that will remain present in your system, even if you perform a factory reset. Your choices are to stay offline until the community devises a better tool to remove traces of CFW (unlikely) or accept the ban risk.

just factory reset your switch through maintenance mode and you're good to go. I sent my switch to nintendo for repair and they didn't notice i had used cfw. There may be instances where there could be some error logs but I highly doubt it in your case.

You can but its not going to be as safe as restoring a clean NAND backup made before hacking. If you want to try following his suggestion, keep us posted on whether or not you get banned for doing so.

A factory reset will not removes traces left by Homebrew applications. What he did has no significance, as the support could have simply not looked for traces of unauthorized software.

Afaik installing nsps also leaves the forged tickets behind on your Switch. Basically there is no reliable way to get rid of all traces that could be there.

You will have to wait until the community devs come up with a solution. Until then you're basically gambling by going online with a Switch that had unauthorized or stolen software running.

I got a backup before i installed any NSP files. I booted in to hekate and done a boot 0 backup? I think thats what it called. It was 1 week after hekate threw out his payload i think.

Its called rawnand.bin.

Can i restore this one?

I'm don't want to disagree with you on the fact that they can look for traces. I think that the factory reset did little to none to cover your activity.

It's more likely that you either didn't had any obvious traces or that the employee was simply sloppy.

I would be cautious to jump to the conclusion, that the factory reset helped you.

If you made that rawnand.bin before hacking the console, you should be able to restore that to make your Switch look like it was never hacked. Use Hekate to restore the rawnand.bin

I had used cfw and played xci files but I had not updated anything online or installed any nsp's if that makes a difference.

That would prove that the factory reset wipes your ticket db. Not that it universally wipes away all traces of Homebrew.

I'm curious, what is the expected behavior if you omit the factory reset from those steps?
i.e. go from illegal NSP to legal eshop purchase of the same game
Because I'm assuming this is the behavior you are testing for... except I have no idea what the expected behavior is
