Team-Xecuter Announces SX OS v1.6 with 'Stealth Mode' and More

Team-Xecuter is back again updating their SX OS
SX16.jpg

Their update v1.6 introduces something new and cool called 'Stealth Mode' which you can read all about, below in their official TX announcement:
Today, we are releasing version 1.6 of SX OS. This update addresses two important things pertaining compatibility and safety. (Two key elements on our priority list)

Lets have a look at what's new!
  • Add support for 32GB XCI files (Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2)
It came to our attention that 32GB XCI files were not working with SX OS. Since game compatibility is high up there on the priority list of Team Xecuter, we investigated this issue and are happy to report this has been resolved. You can now enjoy these content-packed bigger games like Dragon Quest Heroes!
  • Introducing Stealth Mode
Stealth Mode is our solution to prevent console bans. In SX OS v1.6 and onwards this feature will be enabled by default.
    • You can still disable Stealth Mode from the TX menu if you really wish to do so, however we do not recommend this (unless your Switch is already banned).
    • With Stealth Mode enabled your Switch system is not able to send any Switch personal information to Nintendo's servers while still allowing basic Internet functionality (for eg homebrew). Things like local WiFi play is also still possible!
    • Keep in mind Stealth Mode is only active when you are running SX OS! If you occasionally boot back into original Switch firmware you may expose yourself to a ban risk if you have modified your Switch system by installing NSP titles for example, so we do not recommend this!
    • Playing XCI titles in SX OS with Stealth Mode enabled should NOT get you banned when booting/using your original Switch firmware online. This is why we personally prefer our Game Cartridge emulation solution, and so should you! ;-)
We are working on a solution to allow a clean separation between the SX OS system and your original Switch firmware. Stay tuned!
Enough chit-chat, enjoy this fine release. And keep an eye out for what's yet to come!

At this point I believe the new "features" they're (TX) announcing that will come in the future are just predictions now based on what they read on Discord or Gbatemp. They said "oh we found out how to bypass the patched switches", a few weeks ago. Now they churn out a mostly useless update 1.6, and promise a "separation of SXOS and Horizon". People now predict a "emunand" but I'm betting they're gonna wait for Atmosphere or any other CFW to do it so they can make their own flavor.

Yes, I'm hating how much they're charging for things that u can get for free. Screw the ease of use excuse. Screw the "credits given". It's despicable. Come at me bro.

He posts the news, he also posts other news https://gbatemp.net/threads/team-rebug-announces-plans-for-a-switchme-external-dongle.513007/

He rarely posts replies on threads, so I doubt he bothers reading them.

Transparent DNS proxy, DNS filtering or Nintendo hard coding IP addresses 0wn j00.

I understand it's hard for you to accept that SX OS might have implemented something worthwhile because you've made up your mind already.

What has this got to do with you trolling on here?
*sigh* I am done with you, tbh. This is no fun anymore. I will continue voicing my opinion and you will read them or not. I won't respond to anymore posts of you cause they are the equivalent of a three year old yelling "no u!"

I am voicing my complaints in exactly the right place. Garyopa is the voice of TX on these forums.

Didn't you read the 'news post' -- It clearly states that this update v1.6 contains "(Two key elements on our priority list)" -- That 'list' is very long based on feedback from all the sites and threads, and in the list gauged on the requests and feedback over 20 key elements are in the planning stages. -- Not everything can be done at once, different building blocks have to be put in place first before others, and "Stealth Mode" was one of those 'building blocks' and from there you will see more 'cool things' coming over the next updates, but I can't offer any ETA on them, or what will be completed next. -- And if you don't think your complaints or feedback has been hear, then please use the 'contact form' on the Team-Xecuter website, and your email will get filed and read and replied to by their hard-working staff.

He rarely posts replies on threads, so I doubt he bothers reading them.

When I have the time I do, sadly I do read all the threads, and I make notes and file away important feedback, but yes I rarely reply, as long of time people just think I am trolling or bullshitting (like my 6.0 warnings in the BBB eShop proper releases thread) or start flamewars over things (like past products, which I have no control over) in new threads, so it messes up the whole flow and focus, and GBATemp have hard enough job filtering and removing 'trash posts' as it is, so best not to add to the fire, which I am sure my reply above will sadly ending up do.

So effectively all it's doing is preventing log and cert data from being sent to Nintendo while in SXOS by blocking all of Nintendo's network traffic?

It's what happens the next time you reboot into OFW mode that worries me.
I mean Stealth Mode is useful for avoiding getting banned while using FTP (if you were too lazy to use one of the many available DNS servers) but its effectively an Airplane Mode for only Nintendo services. Its 100% impossible to get banned for using Stealth Mode but much like staying offline, it acts more like a self-imposed ban that you get to rescind whenever you choose. If people want to update or play any of their games online, legitimate or not, they have to disable Stealth Mode which is where people may get banned.

Afaics Nintendo can tell the difference between cartridges as they award coins once per cartridge to an account. So there's something (cert maybe, or serial but stupid if they still use that) they can tell the difference. If you strip those info, and all of the SX users were sharing the same XCI info playing those game, they can still ban people.

Anyways, you get banned one day or another once you hacked your console for no matter what reasons, that's how it works as always.
I think when you redeem your points for the cartridge, the cartridge has to actually be inserted and you have to go to the page on the switch to actually redeem them. I'm sure they can tell if the game had been used before so it does have a unique identifier, but is it consistently checked? Even then, it must be only checked when inserted or "mounted" in SXOS??? So, wouldn't just not mounting it while connected to the internet, or now that SXOS blocks connections be safer? Only time will tell, I guess.
