Team-Xecuter Announces SX OS v1.6 with 'Stealth Mode' and More

Team-Xecuter is back again updating their SX OS
SX16.jpg

Their update v1.6 introduces something new and cool called 'Stealth Mode' which you can read all about, below in their official TX announcement:
Today, we are releasing version 1.6 of SX OS. This update addresses two important things pertaining compatibility and safety. (Two key elements on our priority list)

Lets have a look at what's new!
  • Add support for 32GB XCI files (Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2)
It came to our attention that 32GB XCI files were not working with SX OS. Since game compatibility is high up there on the priority list of Team Xecuter, we investigated this issue and are happy to report this has been resolved. You can now enjoy these content-packed bigger games like Dragon Quest Heroes!
  • Introducing Stealth Mode
Stealth Mode is our solution to prevent console bans. In SX OS v1.6 and onwards this feature will be enabled by default.
    • You can still disable Stealth Mode from the TX menu if you really wish to do so, however we do not recommend this (unless your Switch is already banned).
    • With Stealth Mode enabled your Switch system is not able to send any Switch personal information to Nintendo's servers while still allowing basic Internet functionality (for eg homebrew). Things like local WiFi play is also still possible!
    • Keep in mind Stealth Mode is only active when you are running SX OS! If you occasionally boot back into original Switch firmware you may expose yourself to a ban risk if you have modified your Switch system by installing NSP titles for example, so we do not recommend this!
    • Playing XCI titles in SX OS with Stealth Mode enabled should NOT get you banned when booting/using your original Switch firmware online. This is why we personally prefer our Game Cartridge emulation solution, and so should you! ;-)
We are working on a solution to allow a clean separation between the SX OS system and your original Switch firmware. Stay tuned!
Enough chit-chat, enjoy this fine release. And keep an eye out for what's yet to come!

Does this basically mean i could play pirated games on SX OS, but if i wanted to play online with original games, i could simply just switch to normal OFW and play online there? I'm quite confused on how this works
nope

first, with stealth mode you shouldnt be able to conect with any nintendo service at all, so no online games or updates
its work with homebrews, like homebrew store or update json from edizon

first part II, you shouldnt play any pirated games online whatsoever

I see. So it basically just automatizes the process of not going online at all.
I got surprised for a second, but sounded quite impossible. Thanks for clarifying that to me.

Does this mean we can safely play our pirated games online without fear of being banned?
Reading is hard

Does running homebrew not present a ban risk if you ever again boot into OFW for online? (e.g. to update games or play legit games online) Does Homebrew not leave a trace?

It most likely does
Are pm and creport really useful ?
Very useful indeed. Their usefulness outweighs their cons (of which I'm not aware of any).

  • Reduced telemetry by blocking eclct sysmodule from running, also uses creport that dumps to microSD instead of uploading to Nintendo.

english please, so they runs be default in any free CFW?
Not by default, you need the following files in non-SX OS CFWs
There's a folder under titles that ends in 36 (not copyrighted content here) which enables creport. Under sysmodules, pm.kip blocks eclct.
It blocks every communication with nintendo, even online play. So it's different.
I'm not the one who said it so not sure why you're quoting me :P

It blocks every kind of connection of the OS to the servers. Nintendo is not receiving a thing about what you're doing while you're using SX OS in stealth mode. However, in the original firmware of the switch, i think you can still be banned, even if you haven't modded it (by installing nsps or anything). So it won't allow you to play online games on your original firmware (even if they are original and bought by you from the eshop from what i've understood. correct me if i'm wrong) but it will prevent you from getting banned by restricting any kind of interaction with Nintendo servers or online interactions.

intreasting, with that method i can use sys-netcheat, but in SX OS it's much easier however i can't use sys-netcheat i guess.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
