It would appear so. It makes sense since this prevents anyone from abusing CDN downloading even after a normal console ban.
So, they're applying superbans to everyone... According to the Switch EULA, they have the right to intentionally brick consoles like in 3DS? (They never did it, but they look serious this time.)

Additional Comments

I’ve been using SX OS with multiple XCI files with the same cert injected and have not been banned yet. I’ve played hours of Mario kart and splatoon online using downloaded cart dumps that are trimmed. I never installed a nsp or used any CDN downloaders. Only homebrew I used is the one to grab a cert off a legit cart.

A superban does not brick your console. All they did was not allow your console to access their cdn anymore. You can turn your console on and play games just fine. Just can't update or use online.

Looks like I'm superbanned as well now. Originally I was only half banned from I assume using nsp games with SXOS for a couple weeks, but yesterday I noticed I can no longer download updates or redownload legit purchased games anymore. Never used freeshop or any of that stuff. Just SXOS and xci and nsp files.

yep, we all superbanned now. Can't even download games I paid for, so I'm busy downloading torrents of them (with vpn on of course, or you'll get a isp warning).

Such is the price we pay for free games.

Well I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one. Is installing firmware updates and such easy doing it manually?

No. Such is the price for going online when you knew you shouldn’t have.

Yes.

Honestly, I could not care less about online, but I'm worried about the update thing.

Lets say next big games are on 6.0 7.0 or whatever, could we update without any trouble?

The only trouble is finding the update files. I found the 5.1 update on the the dark rainy source many find other files. Have to go old school.

Xbins is another source but you have to put up with irc shenanigans.

Probably have to bite the bullet on banned switches and wait for a “new” upgraded switch for owned games. I still haven’t went online with mine but if I do, I’m gonna reformat the thing and hope for the best.

Not grasping the logic here. Don't go online, or a superban. Both of them are the same, you can't use the online features. Is is so you can say your aren't banned? Because you know the second you do go online with the console, even in ofw, they are going to flag you so a ban will be coming.

The difference is who is in control and disposition of the Switch. With a self ban the Switch owner determines if and when the ban ends. With a full Nand restore the Switch can go online, has market value. A switch with a Superban can likely never go online again and has diminished market value.

Okay, sorry, I understand what you are saying now. Do we have anyone that has done that yet?
