Just force shut down works from anywhere. So from anywhere.

hey mate, i did this by holding power button.
at 100% charge, now after 5h i inserted my dongle (with the sx apk on my phone) it directly launched the app (seems autorcm was still in it even when "powered off") thing is the battery did drain during the 5h , from 100% to 65%....

so uhh that's not working , the only way would be to uninstall autorcm.

I'll just keep my switch in sleep mode, been using it that way for more than a month with no issues.

the only annoyance is like someone mentioned " fully drained battery " where you'll have to charge the switch for more than 20 minutes initially to get it to 1% then charge it up from there to 3h to fully charge it.

seems autorcm was still in it even when "powered off

It most likely "powered back on" into RCM mode. You just didn't notice because there is no display output.

that's the thing with auto rcm, you either use it or jig.
using auto is my preferred method , though i did wanted to fully power my switch off since it's been over a month that i had been using sleep mode mostly.

and it fully depleted on me twice so far.

So the simplest would be to power it off from horizon. Let it boot to RCM and insert your dongle and power off from the SX OS (or any other payload) menu

The switch doesn't run Windows, why would you need to turn it off?

Just don't turn it off, there is no need.

Actually it's known that if you turn it off while connected to USB it will turn back on. If you plug it in to charge after turning it off, it will turn on. If you breath on the power button it will turn on.

Best bet is to use sleep mode and not turn it off. No reason to.

i think So too, but i just wanted to power it off to give it good off time, but then again like you said it's not like it's running windows.

i also keep my vita sleep mode for months, and i only force power it off when it gets freezes or glitches (which rarely happens).
so i believe the switch just like vita is also well designed to be kept in sleep mode.
