Misc Freeshop not working on 1.7?

You dont see anything or you choose not to read it all. Yes every firmware is affected. Yes every app that uses title keys is affected. No you cannot use any of those methods to get games your after any more.
Nintendo has blocked freeShop (and other tools like it) on the server side. It doesn't matter what OFW you are using, freeShop is going to start losing functionality.

still works my end, i blocked updates and prevented anyway of them knowing i'm basically stealing from them I can say this in confidence, if you know what you're doing Nintendo can't touch you.
Can you say in confidence you have access to every last game on there that was there before ninty done this?
i can yes, they are all in files labeled under their respective systems which i have collected over the years and now each folder is full of classics like silhouette mirage for ps1 , tales of the abyss for ps2, Chrono Trigger on snes, Fire emblem Gaiden on nes and many more great titles all at my disposal. Plus it helps with my gamecube portable project having access to every single game on the system.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better. -

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
