So what do they use to determine if the console has been hacked? Cleared log, 'weird' entries in log? If ReiNX runs on the RAM or sd card it shouldn't leave any trace after the console is turned off, only in the log, unless it writes something somewhere else.
Things that happen in HOS. Which likely includes logs like you said, and also likely includes piracy detection and logging along with other telephony triggers. RCM itself however is imo unlikely to be the thing being detected, it's likely just things being done in HOS.

For now, Nintendo got no ways of detecting cfws/hekate (EXCLUDING any piracy related things (especially layered fs, nsp installing and stuff), that is already confirmed). They may implement it in on coming firmware tho. Banning someone for their sd content is....... meh. (but we don't know)
Only logs might trigger something (even there we don't fully know) (This might includes title that aren't supposed to exist (btw this is one of the reasons homebrew are probably not going to be installable NCAs (there are other reasons)), clearing error log on firmware 5.x (might get a work around,), mismatch in certain logm etc)
(Actually other things too might be detected, such as the way of booting, but, for now, I think it is irrelevant)

The both of you did not answer the following 2 questions:
Can you login to Nintendo's website using your linked Nintendo Account? Y/N
Do you get error code 2137-7403 trying to update your system firmware? Y/N

Also NEO-BAHAMUT-, you indicated you updated your backups. Was it in CFW, OFW, or a mix of both?

I don't want to get banned.
As far as we now, XCI with own certs seems to be the safest way to play games.

I'm wondering if there is a way to convert an nsp to an xci?

Been playing both NSP and XCI's with no certs and haven't been banned yet for several waves. Of course, I play offline, without a wifi ever connected, and often switch back to play Splatoon 2 online, after clearing all data on my SSD and removing installed games that aren't legitimate. So, I really don't know how people get banned lad.

I still need the answers for the other 2 questions about using your Nintendo Account on Nintendo's website and if you get an error code trying to update your system firmware. I also just realized you didn't indicate the lowest version of SX OS you used.
Did you clear error logs at any point? If so, on what firmwares?
I just got a new switch, will be better of if I dont even put the wifi password to avoid all this?
You can just use Airplane Mode since the Switch can connect to Nintendo Hotspots if its close enough. Deleting the Wi-Fi settings is still a good precaution because docking it can disable Airplane Mode.

If people gets banned because they cleared the logs, that means that logs cannot be cleared by the user in any way, even after a factory reset. So, the only way to have a 100% clean switch again is restoring a nand backup where the console was not modified in any way, right?

Correct, its been added already as a preventative measure in the OP (by a mod, mind you so I didn't format/touch it).

As you asked before, here is this:
My curiosity was peaked on how far you can get away with having NSP content installed while online. This might just be common knowledge and I'm just ignorant enough to not google it, but I did it anyway.

DISCLAIMER: I did this on 4 "broken yet playable" Switch models I bought from Ebay(e.i. broken screen so only docked, unable to accept joycons so only wired controller, etc.) so your mileage may vary. I did not restore any of the firmwares on the Switch consoles. When a console was banned, I went to the next one. So, do not try any of this if you have even a shred of doubt you may get banned.

Games Used: Fortnite, Splatoon 2 Physical, and Dead Cells NSP.

First attempt: Booted into CFW with no airplane mode, Installing NSP through Tinfoil, played NSP, Fortnite, Unable to start application. Loss to Eshop. Ban.

Second Attempt: Airplane mode while in CFW, installing NSP, then switching airplane mode off, played Fortnite, played NSP, played Splatoon 2. Error. Can still access Eshop, online gameplay is inhibited. I considered this a "ban"

Third Attempt: Airplane mode while in CFW, installed NSP, played Splatoon 2, airplane mode off, played NSP, Played Fortnite, then Splatoon 2 again. Error. "Ban."

Fourth Attempt: Airplane Mode CFW, Install NSP, Fortnite, Splatoon 2, NSP, airplane mode off, Splatoon 2, Fortnite, Console Off, CFW Airplane mode on, NSP, Airplane off, Splatoon 2, Fortnite, left Switch on to see if autoban after some time.

I've started this Monday, August 6th and the fourth Switch has yet to be banned as long as the Tinfoil installed game is run on Airplane Mode. I have yet to see if Switch is banned after some time with a Tinfoil installed NSP. If you're afraid to get banned I would recommend an exclusive Airplane Mode only Switch consoles. I did this as an experiment to see what I could get away with as I like playing online with my Switch.

Edit: 4th Switch is now banned. Woke up this morning and started playing Splatoon 2 and downloaded Paladins to use more varied games to mess around with and received an error code 2124-4007. Ban.

Actually doing this will probably put a redflag.
And there are other ways of manually doing it.

I was kinda hoping you would fill out the form for each of the consoles, but maybe my expectations were too high. In any rate, I'll see if I can convert your experiment into data for the spreadsheet.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.

Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
