Hacking Bricked my Switch :-<

Yo guys, I think I bricked somehow my switch.

Yesterday I unpacked my switch and did a NAND Backup using hekate (FW 3.0.1). Today I wanted to use ReiNX (downloaded darth meteos package)

I dont really think I did something wrong (copied the data on my SD card, went into RCM mode and injected the payload). Then the ReiNX Screen appeared and seconds later nothing happened.

Now I cant literally do anything with the switch. I doesnt turn on, I cant get into RCM mode. Its dead. If I connect it to my PC Windows detects it as a "unknown device".

Any ideas?

Did you try holding down the power button for around 12 seconds to completely turn it off?

Thank you so much! I was already checking ebay how much worth a bricked switch is
But it worked, didnt read anywhere it takes so long to turn off the switch!

Cant really help with the ReiNX thing though, I have not really messed around with it yet
I think I remember hearing something about it being broken on 3.X awhile ago, I dont know if it was ever fixed or not though

Remove fs_mitm.kip under your sysmodules folder under ReiNX

Just use RajNX as it has compatibility across all fw versions without need to specify which version you have. This leaves out room for error. Its pretty much identical to ReiNX at this point they are all compiling from the same sources, and/or doing things a similar way.

then my next suggestion would be to download dark meteos's 3.0.1

Be sure to delete your ReiNX folder and then extract those files to your SD card.

Unsure whats going on, but its definitely abnormal.

What payload are you using? I would stick to hekate 3.2 for now.

Yep, 3.0.1 also doenst boot, even with removed fs_mitm.kip .
I use the included payload (ReiNX.bin)

Use hekate. Also don't edit any configs or remove anything. If you have, delete whatever you've done and re-extract from the 3.0.1 sd files zip.

Very wierd.

How are you sending the payload? What does the status code return after delivering payload? It should be 0x7000

If it returns 0x0000 its patched.

Did this today, because I got problems that my installed games didn’t work after updated to newest stash. What is this kip for?

Its for use with LayeredFS however this causes issues on firmwares below 4.0 as those are not supported via LayeredFS meaning the console cannot boot using it. Higher firmwares should be fine using LayeredFS however Tinfoil has issues when LayeredFS is running.

There should be a sticky that just says if you think your switch is bricked hold the power button down for 15 seconds. So many times on this forum people have thought their switch was dead while it was actually just stuck in RCM mode or something else....

It means Nintendo did a poor job if hardly anyone ever seems to know about this "feature". You would think anyone with a PC would know about long press power button though.
