i installed something like a autorcm on my switch. so the switch doesnt boot into normal mode anymore.
my problem is, that my battery is always low. on the next day, after i completely shut down the switch the
battery is complete empty. it fleels like the switch isnt really shutting down.

Don't completely shut down the Switch. It automatically boots back into RCM without user input, so you're not getting the full charge speed, which is why it feels like your Switch is discharging even when it's plugged in. Just keep it in sleep mode.

I'm quite surprised about this answer.

How's the ReiNX better than the other existing hacks for the Switch, then?

Is not the Atmosphere CFW the Luma3DS counterpart for the Switch?
If you followed the 3DS scene, Luma was forked from ReiNAND which was made by the same person who created ReiNX. Meaning before Luma, everyone used ReiNAND. And until Atmosphere is completed, ReiNX is the way to go. You can port the patches in the unofficial builds of ReiNX to be used with Hekate so you have both .NSP and LayeredFS support making Hekate the superior "CFW".

I was not really that familiar about the history of 3DS hacking in its chronological order. But I am aware how awesome the ReiNAND exploit and Luma3DS CFW were. I'm actually surprised to know that Luma3DS was derived from ReiNAND and even surpassed it.

So, essentially, it's Hekate that is next best thing to SX OS, then?

Hekate is by far the best all-around CFW since ReiNX doesn't implement the patches needed to play .NSPs independently as well as being able to feature unique tools the best of which is dumping the NAND.

I'm just waiting for my Switch to arrive after having placed an order online. I shall see by then what Hekate is all about.

Last question: Is this really how straightforward the installation of Hekate to the Switch is? I was actually referring to this link: https://t3chnolog1c.github.io/SwitchGuide/

Pretty much. Also, you cannot 'install' Hekate as the exploit is lost upon reboot. Its more accurate to say you 'ran' Hekate but I understand what you are trying to say. You can use whatever terminology you prefer, just be aware that others may jump on you for not using the right wording.

I've had a 1.0.0 Switch sitting in my shelf for a few months now waiting for a back-up loader and CFW. From what I understand homebrew and back-up loading is already possible, even without SX, but the process seems so complicated. The only consoles I've had any real experience hacking were PS3 and Wii, and both were very easy to hack, and both had back-up loaders that were easy to install and user friendly.

My question is, are there more user-friendly CFW/back-up solutions on the horizon for the Switch or do I just need to stop being dumb and get to work on my Switch?

True. As it appears, Hekate is not a "CFW" but rather a bootloader. It's Atmosphere that's the CFW that typically comes with it.

I mean we've got a guide to playing backups right here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-reinx-installation-and-use.512342/
Also, you can update from 1.0 and preserve that firmware with this tutorial: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...nofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/

But if you want to keep waiting, we don't know how much longer you have to wait for.

After starting SX OS with the SX Pro dongle, at what point can I remove the dongle?

- After booting in the SX menu where I can choose between CFW and OFW?
- After booting the CFW and sitting in the home screen?
- After starting a (XCI) game?

I guess my question is, with ReiNX being labled a WIP and Atmosphere still under production, are those projects, when finished, going to more or less resemble what we have now in terms of back-up loading and homebrew or will they be easier to use?

It would be after the SX OS menu boots however with an activated license, it won't boot into the menu automatically, instead it will jump straight to CFW unless you continue holding volume +

ReiNX currently uses copyrighted files to accomplish the backup launching meaning you have to move more files onto your SD card. Their goal is to remove these files and implement a copyright-free method of applying these patches but what they will look like is up to them. The process is honestly pretty straightforward as is since it just involves copying and pasting files and folders onto your computer. Atmosphere won't be implementing backup launching when its completed and will need to be added by someone other than the team developing it which is ReSwitched.

What I'm trying to say is that easiness of use is completely subjective and based on how well you can follow instructions.

Hi guys.
Quick question about cfw and ban.
With cold boot cfw you need to launch the switch in rcm mode in order to access the cfw right? And if you shutdown it and restart without rcm it will launch on the official firmware?
And for the ban, it's only when you try to go online with a cracked game that N detect you? Like If you install cracked games on the cfw and play online with official games (while on cfw or official firmware), is it risky or not?
Thx

Any console that is hacked and goes online risks getting banned. Certain actions are more likely to get you banned than others (i.e. piracy) but the point is no hack is considered safe. Only ways to avoid being banned is by staying offline or restoring a NAND dump made before hacking the console.
