Team-Xecuter Releases SX OS v1.4

TX Releases Another Update To Their SX OS, with lots of nice improvements in v1.4

We have not heard from TX for a while, but don't worry, they back with nice new update to their SX OS, check out v1.4 below:

SX OS v1.4 Announcement
Good day, loyal users!

While we chip away at many different features for SX OS and additions to our SX hardware family we took a break to prepare an update for SX OS with some exciting new functionality and outstanding bug fixes.

Let's have a look at what's new and fixed in this release:
  • Integrated NSP installer
With our last update we introduced the possibility of installing eShop NSP titles. However, this relied on using external tools and wasn't very user friendly. In this release we bring our own integrated NSP installer as part of our menu system. This is the neatest and easiest way of installing NSP titles, enjoy!
  • Integrated homebrew launcher
Launching homebrew used to be done by launching NX HBMenu by holding R when entering the album. While we kept this possibility (mostly for developers), you can now also launch your favorite homebrew directly from our own menu!
  • IR / motion plus issue fixed
A few games (like 1-2-Switch and Resident Evil) were suffering from freezes when enabling the joycon IR camera or motion controls.
  • Allow unsigned NCA
People asked us if we could get rid of the NCA integrity checks, so we did! Custom NCA files, modified NCA files and repackaged NCA files should all work fine now.
  • Display SX OS version in menu
To better distinguish the different versions of SX OS we introduced a small version number display in our menu.
  • LayeredFS fixes for 4.1.0
There were certain issues with 'LayeredFS' for people on firmware 4.1.0. If you use 'LayeredFS' on that specific firmware there's good news for you: these issues have been identified and fixed!
And that's that for this release. We have quite the backlog of feature requests and todo's on our plate, but trust we'll get there!

Ive installed eShop games to system storage, and running XCI from a sd card and both appear about the same loading times, minimal to say the least, very happy with this update, not going to get into politics of code, ethics etc, just happy to install games and play :D

Not getting into any politics either I’ve seen enough to know there’s no concrete proof of either side of the argument which is pointless anyway.

So thanks for the response didn’t feel like wasting time to install all my games as nsp if there weren’t great benefits. I might try out Donkey Kong installed to SD to see if it loads faster than XCI on SD since I hear it’s a problem game. Either way mostly just glad to be able to install updates and the like.

Just use FreeShopNX it's an updated version of what you're using and it works on SX OS homebrew launcher

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I got that error when loading certain nsps however it was quite rare and on SX OS 1.3

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Oh and the nsps worked after a reinject of the payload.
Can you send me the link?
Theres no compiled version on github

I know they used GPL licensed code, I even said they stole code. I just said that if they don't like it, then don't use it and if they want to bash all of the negatives and are so hell bent on giving credit where due... GIVE CREDIT to TX for what they DID do at least. Yes they have done bad, but also good as well. I hate those who are too simple minded to see both sides and justword vomit their one sided biased opinions while omitting certain things.
Then they have to make that open source since they stole the original source. If they used tinfoil, then make it open source and not close it off

Hi all,
I have a folder called 'Celeste'. Within that folder is a 'exefs' folder and a 'romfs.bin' file.
Will SX OS recognise and install this or do I need to convert to .nsp?
If so, how do you create a .nsp file from what I've got? Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

So, what's the best way to get update files for Switch games?

I'd like to update my XCI's to latest versions, but I dunno how to get the updates for them...

I would understand the "hate/critics" if TX was selling a "clone" product of something that was already free, and taking credits + marketing. But in the end, they're not "just" doing that. (it's their own package)
For once, until now, i haven't seen "elsewhere" a cart emulation/xci. For that, and it was their selling point, nothing to judge.

If this Tinfoil-Stealing thing is real, the fact that you can do a bit more (update/dlc), proves that they also worked on it. (not good ethics but not just stealing and selling)

(I work as a programmer for 20 years now, and sure, open-source/communities are great, but, if you make something that you know, someone could take advantage of it in a commercial way and you'll not be happy about it, don't go around and share your source-code. There's no need to cry about it later.)

And the selling key in TX product, is that they're making it all-in-one easy package. You can't judge that also.
Even if there's "stealing" involved... you hardly know the work they have, to bundle all of it, upgrading, fixing.
The dongle thing.. you can also do that yourself .. but will you? Big part of the things in the world, easy or hard, you can do it with your bare hands... but you end paying someone else to do it for you, and easier your life.

That's what's happening in this TX drama.
Just look at this way.. your paying someone else a service to get your "life" easier.
(Why wasting money in restaurants, when you can buy the same ingredients in a local market for less?)

(I'm not defending TX or anyone else... just my 5 cent regarding this subject)

To use NSP files we need LayeredFS (with Pokemon Quest) and LayeredFS = BAN
But with the "new" installer form the last SX OS 1.4, it's same or "no ban" with this method please ?

Thanks You
