We have not heard from TX for a while, but don't worry, they back with nice new update to their SX OS, check out v1.4 below:

SX OS v1.4 Announcement
Good day, loyal users!

While we chip away at many different features for SX OS and additions to our SX hardware family we took a break to prepare an update for SX OS with some exciting new functionality and outstanding bug fixes.

Let's have a look at what's new and fixed in this release:
  • Integrated NSP installer
With our last update we introduced the possibility of installing eShop NSP titles. However, this relied on using external tools and wasn't very user friendly. In this release we bring our own integrated NSP installer as part of our menu system. This is the neatest and easiest way of installing NSP titles, enjoy!
  • Integrated homebrew launcher
Launching homebrew used to be done by launching NX HBMenu by holding R when entering the album. While we kept this possibility (mostly for developers), you can now also launch your favorite homebrew directly from our own menu!
  • IR / motion plus issue fixed
A few games (like 1-2-Switch and Resident Evil) were suffering from freezes when enabling the joycon IR camera or motion controls.
  • Allow unsigned NCA
People asked us if we could get rid of the NCA integrity checks, so we did! Custom NCA files, modified NCA files and repackaged NCA files should all work fine now.
  • Display SX OS version in menu
To better distinguish the different versions of SX OS we introduced a small version number display in our menu.
  • LayeredFS fixes for 4.1.0
There were certain issues with 'LayeredFS' for people on firmware 4.1.0. If you use 'LayeredFS' on that specific firmware there's good news for you: these issues have been identified and fixed!
And that's that for this release. We have quite the backlog of feature requests and todo's on our plate, but trust we'll get there!

The difference in approach is,TX doesn't tell you "learn to read you dumb @#$%" and follow the 100 million steps we've posted

They give you a fully working product you just have to start up.

They already got my $25, they are just doing a service now.
I appreciate the hard work going on in the scene,TX wouldn't have half the features without it,but come on. Linking guides to sites to figure out you can't post about piracy stuff only to be sent to more guides about stuff nobody can discuss to do something as simple as install a file... That's where TX shines

can confirm that 1-2 switch and re revelations are working perfectly fine now with no freeze. didn't test la noire yet as i deleted the nsp in disappointment. nsp installation works fine also including dlcs and updates. tx really keeps on supporting their product so no regrets on paying them. good job tx

AKA leecher friendly

Another controversial update but I don't see the scene providing a fully integrated XCI/NSP/Homebrew launcher with a 99.9% (or even 100% now?) compatibility for every game out there. Go on TX, there are people appreciating what you are doing (although still wishing that you gave credit for code you are using).
I agree with the last statement, my only issue with TX is that they didn't give proper credits.

I have to agree that while I'm not a fan of TX, their product is clean and does what it states without complexity.

They seem to have all the pieces now and I think this new update will drive more sales for them.

Is it at all safe to go into official firmware and play your own legit games online with NSP installed? Or is that still basically a guaranteed ban?

Installing NSPs is probably still very dangerous in terms of ban risk, I suppose? Very nice that they now have an integrated installer though.

Nothing is a guaranteed ban. Just that certain things are more likely to get you banned with others. For instance, if Nintendo sees you have eShop games installed onto your console but you never paid for them, do you think they'll turn the other cheek and focus on more important things like Nintendo Labo 2?

I never saw it this way but this is very accurate. The only difference is I can afford both (well I can afford SX Pro and OS and the rest is free). When S9+ and iPhoneX i can't. I got just the S9+ :)
Except for the fact that it boils down to whose side of the fence you're on. I can't ever justify an iPhone, regardless of how simple it is.

SX vs the community boils down to who releases the working product first. I'm not saying Reswitched or Rei (our savior) are going to fall short. However, we've got most of the better things with SX at this point in time.

I'm running 3.0.2 and Fifa nsp update installed successfully. Didn't run it though because it prompted for system update which I'm not doing just yet.
Tried Yooka-laylee but that failed instantly. I think that is meant to work with 3.0.1 so not sure, maybe wrong FW or bad dump

I know there is a lot of hate for sx os but the interface does look nice imo (although missing a 'b'ack otion after doing an nsp install whic is oversight I guess).
Homebrew menu nicely accessible too and old method to access also works

I do agree that I hate cluttering the root drive.

I installed Splatoon 2 update and dlc but when I load the .xci, Horizon menu shows two game icons.
Has this happened to anyone else?
