Hacking Question Converting NSP to XCI

Don't people usually ask this question the other way round? [XCI>>NSP]

I don't see the problem with devmenu, it's nice to have NSP's alongside XCI's until such a time where we can easily pack and unpack our own preferred file format (a simple drag drop and click method - it will be done oneday). B-)

So I guess a NSP to XCI converter will never exist huh? That's a bummer x.x
Why is XCI to NSP more popular tho? Because the games can be installed into the internal memory or SD? It still doesn't free up space for more games tho.

Nowadays XCI is more widespread across download sites than NSP's, i think.
XCI's are right now only usable with SXOS anyway, so NSP's are more popular for people who didn't buy SX Pro like me (it's CAD $80 here in Canada).

Ah ok. Now I understand the situation better. Thanks for the reply. That's bummer that it's exclusive to SX Pro.

I would love this for one simple reason. Multiple SD cards.

My switch gets really messy when you install an NSP on a card that is not inserted. Would be all XCI if it were up to me.!

any status on this? I would love to convert .nsp to .xci.

I wonder what all is involved

You can extract NSP to NCA by using "HACToolGUI" by press "Extract PFS0"

then can you convert nca to xci?

I'm also interested in something like this, but more so, I'd like to build an XCI file from my existing installed games on my microSD card that I paid for. It would be so much easier to have XCI files because I can easily remove them from my microSD card if I am not going to play for a while and put them back without issue, and just as easily keep track of what I have on my PC.
