Have you been using homebrew regularly or just the game backups?
If you never play them online, your risk is greatly diminished. Outside of that, going online with backups is ill-advised as it will lead to a ban one way or another (either game's unique certificate/header and/or your console will get banned).guys - ive been super intrigued by this thread.
For newbs is there a thread to read?
I'm still awaiting my card - but i did purchase a few games that i'd like to dump and run as back ups.
Am i at risk for getting banned if i backup my games then sell them which would most likely result in someone else using those games ?
Done.May you be so kind as to file a full report here? https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendo-switch-banning-hub.508710/
Console.@x0x0 Console ban or Certificat ban ?
My console is banned RIP.
great news nintendo finally has a cheat stopping powers . . . so many games will have proper competitive online because of thisIf you never play them online, your risk is greatly diminished. Can you still use your switch if it’s banned? What can you do with it. I still haven’t been banned “yet” but seriously worrying anytime! On the bright side, at least for me, I have no fear of installing eshop backups now since there's no chance of this thing going online. :-)
In the event that somebody comes up with a solid, working method of online play, I'll just buy another Switch for online use.
Tbh serves you right bud, you just went silly in the end using games without certificates etc..My console is banned RIP.
There's a lot of things you can do with a banned Switch contrary to popular belief. Game and system updates are a given, but as long as the linked Nintendo Account is not banned, you can actually still buy/download eShop games. Just use Nintendo's website with your Nintendo Account, grab whatever you want there, then select "Update Download Progress" from your console and voila! You can still use the eShop to buy and download whatever you want. I have a whole section dedicated on what you can do after a ban in my thread. So far, there are no workarounds for online play (without a private server) or retrieving installed titles that were deleted, not archived (without using eXhop). Can you still use your switch if it’s banned? I give an ETA of about 5 hours.Looks like I’m the last man standing from the originals like us! The question now is, how long can I keep going???
Thanks so even if your console is banned the only real restriction is online gaming doesn't sound that terrible and much of a "banned" console to me, can you still use your back ups and nsp's on a banned console also install .nsp files via devmenu and play all your physicals properly?. Tbh I would not pay Nintendo for online access anyway (it should be free outright, charging is a ridiculous move by Nintendo) so losing online play is not much of a deterrent! There's a lot of things you can do with a banned Switch contrary to popular belief. If you're talking 4007 error, I'm not sure that's 100% correct. I can not get to the eShop at all from the console. I can, however, update games, which I thought was strange. Not sure about updating the console itself. There's a lot of things you can do with a banned Switch contrary to popular belief. Game and system updates will always be possible, ban or not. As for the eShop, it won't work from the console alone, but if you login to Nintendo's website with your Nintendo Account, download/buy anything, then select "Update Download Progress", it will indeed start downloading whatever you just got. I had another banned user confirm this. eXhop works too but its less official. If you're talking 4007 error, I'm not sure that's 100% correct. I can not get to the eShop at all from the console. Oh, I see what you're saying. Through the site. Interesting. I'll have to try that.Game and system updates will always be possible, ban or not. I'm curious, will an eShop game like Jackbox Party Pack be able to connect to the internet since it's not connecting to anything Nintendo-based?Game and system updates will always be possible, ban or not. Some people say it doesn't work since you have to go through Nintendo's servers first while others say it should because of what you said. The problem is I haven't seen anyone actually try it so it might be useful intel to have if it does work after trying it.I'm curious, will an eShop game like Jackbox Party Pack be able to connect to the internet since it's not connecting to anything Nintendo-based?
I think I'm gonna go ahead and download the nsp file for Jackbox Party Pack 4 and install it and see what happens. Now that my Switch is banned, I'm not afraid to use DevMenu on it. ;-)Some people say it doesn't work since you have to go through Nintendo's servers first while others say it should because of what you said. Good to know. I won't waste my time then.Shouldn't work. It still goes through Nintendo first. If you want to use any game, even a third party game, online you'll need a new Switch.
If you mean local multiplayer, that should work since those do not need a Wi-Fi connection to work. Obviously, your Switch cannot be in Airplane Mode though.Good to know. I won't waste my time then.
I'm about to get a 2nd Switch to be used Online.
Hey, do you know if wireless console-to-console connections for games work?
No.. I'm not talking local multiplayer. Well, not exactly. I'm talking direct Switch-to-Switch wireless play.
