ROM Hack Freeshop Questions

Hi guys. I have been using Freeshop somewhat and have a few questions:

- How do I keep Freeshop updated with latest games?
- For games from Freeshop, as well as CIA games, can they all be updated through Freeshop?

Side questions: I keep hearing about CTRPF, what is that? I use cheats through NTR Cheat Plugins. Is NTR Cheat Plugin still supported?

Freeshop updates games itself by using that title keys site. I'm not 100% if all games can be updated through the freeshop but why do that when you can update games from the home screen directly? CTRPF is a cheat interface plugin but i dont use cheats that often so im not really familiar with the plugin. When i do use cheats i go with NTR which is still supported.

How do I update games from home screen?
Doesn’t updating games from home screen go through Nintendo’s EShop? I am on FW 11.6 and use Luma and B9S. Help appreciated [emoji4]

When you download games from Freeshop you get a ticket which can then be used to download the game directly from the eshop if you so desire. It's like you own the game basically. When updating from the home screen choose "complete download now" instead of "confirm details in nintendo eshop then download".

How do I update the actual freeshop app? I downloaded the cia version. Do I just install that over top of old one with FBI?

For Pokemon Ultra Sun, is it safe to update that game? I use Pokehex and last I read on here, latest update broke use of that with game. Wondered if that was still the case. Thoughts and help appreciated

Don't know about pokehex but i use PKSM and it works with the latest update.

Yes.. street pass, multiplayer, as well as other online features will work on undubbed, translated and native japanese or other region games without a problem. Although i cannot guarantee that it will work with every game. There are a couple of games that are kind of region locked, but with todays cfw plugins and a little modding you could probably bypass this. In the end its a trial and error thing, but all of the games i've tested (undub, translated and native japanese) have worked for me. Which games are you talking about?

Terry's wonderland works, as you can see. I've only tested dqm 3 joker and that one works as well.

There's a site out there where you can get the CIA which is already patched and ready to play

I recently just downloaded Dragon Quest Monsters 2 and Installed it on my 3ds. But it requires an update and it's making me do a system update? I don't know what to do and I can't find an update CIA anywhere. If you have one or know a way to change regions on my 3ds please let me know.

Changing 3ds region can be more hassle than its worth, esp that eshop will no longer let you use it. Thats eshop not freeshop. There is also a 11.7 update out there atm too. which is why its likely asking for the update.

I had the cia installed since freeshop didn't have it.

Every installed cia can be updated directly from the home screen but you should probably wait a bit till its certain to update to the newest firmware first. After that you can update the game and try the online features.
