AFAIK the biggest risk has to do with the console verification regarding device authorization token to go online

It's all a risk. If the console, cart and digital content can all be verified then doing anything dodgy online risks your console being banned.

You might be able to spoof as another legitimate switch or game cart, but that isn't much of a win. If they notice two people using the same switch or cart certificate they can ban it.

You could use your own purchased game to spoof from, but then they'd still see it if the game itself tries to connect I guess? MP won't be a thing for pirates I guess.

You might be ok if the only backups you use are ones that have been accurately dumped from games you own and you don't give them to anybody else.

But it's possible that further anti piracy checks will still flag you up and you get banned.

IMO going online with nintendo pirated games have been a luxury so far, i will never go online with a switch pirated game but what i am curious is how updates are handled etc.
besides what games beside the upcoming pokemon game in 2019 (not the shitty kiddy lets go one) that are worthy of going online? i doubt nintendo online paid service will handle smooth playing with smash anyway so that as a couch co op game is the best way.

count me in with the cuiousity thing, was just thinking about the exact same thing, whether itd be really safe to create an account and if itd be possible to update them 'backuped' games or risk a ban by doing so , and also same thing applies for updating the fw.

hmmm, tx do say its possible /you can update your games/fw.
but the risk bans..

would be interesting if this requests are only sent if you want to play online or if the xonsole sents them already when asking for an update....

if it does the same for update requests you can not even play offline games while connected to the internet and you had to disconnect every time you want to use a pirated game

do we know how the game icon gets saved on the menu screen? when you insert a game card and play that game the game gets data(?) saved on the menu screen and automatically updated etc.
what is in that data? can they tell what is the game id just by that etc?

don't go online period and you'll be safe. once you hack your switch that's it you give up all online capabilities there's no getting around it that's all there is to it so choose what you want more.

This is good
This will keep cheaters off multiplayer games. I'm all for this. I'm playing all my backups offline anyway. Never had any thought about playing online

I’m not meaning to give people any ideas here but, it’s reads as if I use the TX SXOS to emulate the card slot I should be fine to go online with my actual ownership games I.E. my own backups. Don’t Pirate games people or it’ll cost you 300 bones over and over
