Hacking Xecuter SX FAQ - Finally!

If you only buy SX OS and put it on your sd card through windows (I guess that's how you download it?) can you launch it by shorting pin 1 and 10 while the sd card is in the NSW?

Thanks, appreciated.

No, you still need to send the payload via PC or Android.

That payload isn't related to Xecuter software and can be done by USB from windows to NSW? Thanks!
That payload is absolutely related to the xecuter software since it is what launches the SX OS, but you can also launch it with any other means. The dongle is only for convenience and there will be third party dongles or rebuilds soon after that whole thing sets off.

Ok cool, was thinking of buying the pro version, but guess I'll go with just the software then. Hopefully someone sets up a guide once it is released for untechnical fools like myself :) Thanks for the replies!

It's not hard, if you have an android phone you can grab nxloader and any otg adapter that fits your phone, and send the payload that way. The dongle (which is 10 dollars more than os only) is worth the money for convenience, at least at the beginning

I have an iphone, macbook and windows laptop, so android is not an option sadly. The pro version costs 2x+ the amount in europe, no idea why. I rather get the software version from a US webshop instead. Here it costs 60-65 euro including delivery instead of the 40 dollars (35 euro) advertised.

Even though I can launch payloads from my phone and PC, I think I'll pay the extra for the dongle for convenience

I got it from shop01media for around 49 included shipping, fine with me

Some users on GBATemp have been working on a way to send payloads with iOS devices

I still don't understand no one is discussing why SX can't run eshop games. That's a big let down for me. Have they mentioned anything about this? And what is the risk of getting banned when using SX?

Because eShop games have to be installed to nand and no one figured out (yet) how to do it.

No surprise ...

There's no untethered coldboot to CFW

I wonder when "soon" for the XS OS website will be...

Ikr?! I'm just worried that the charging port on my switch will wear down after a while, being that you have to put the dongle in every time you want CFW and also every time you take out your micro SD card your switch reboots, TEAM EXECUTER Please work on a coldboot as fast as possible.

There is only one eshop dump ever released, most digital only games are starting to get physical releases also so not a huge downside for right now. Could be like gateway where the eshop release could be converted inti .3ds format to run it.
