Ok, let me get this straight, the problem here is that windows cannot manage transfer files larger than 4gb to an sd card in fat32? This is the big problem in this thread? Cause if it is this, literally ANYONE and i mean anyone could get a linux distro and use it without installing to move the files to the sd....

You know it is hilarious how Nintendo still wins, you buy the hack, you hack your Switch, you put your game on it, then you buy 2 to 3 more switches for the other rooms, doesn't matter, they still get your money, how hilarious and I'm just as much of a sucker for Nintendo devices, I support Nintendo because look at Sega, we all know how that turned out. that was answered by them in email in another thread, atm there is no way of playing the games because they do not support split files is they do exist, they could be working on that but who knows because the tx sx works in the latest firmware, so I guess only the atmosphere people are affected by that limitation

SX OS will also try to look for split files in the form of "filename.xc0" "filename.xc1" "filename.xc2" and so on to support ROMs larger than 4GB on FAT32.

Just for people that are curious as to where you got that info from. No need to update to the latest firmware and homebrew support has been confirmed to be a SX OS 1.0 feature right out of the box.

like I stated before xci cutter wont do as it won't bring an 8gb file down to less than 4gb. you will still need to wait for xci splitter and for it to be supported by SX OS.

Only if you are on latest firmware and can get the update that allows the Switch to support exFat.

The thing is though, just like the 3DS with flashcarts you can adopt early but eventually everyone will get it for free, and your flashcart will be useless. Its the mentality of enjoying a reward now, or waiting it out and saving money then enjoying the same reward completely free in a few months.

This is coming from someone who did this with the 3DS, I bought a flashcart because I was in a RUSH to get backups running, then after a few months, I didn't need the flashcart and wasted the money. I suppose to each their own, if you've got the money to burn on an eventually useless product, go for it, but just know that your product that you bought in a hurry will be useless in a month or so.

This is true but a 3DS and flashcarts aren’t a very good example, since a flashcart is one of the most useful tools to have. Also, CFW is not free on the latest firmwares. I get what you mean but you could have used a better analogy.

I'm sorry does a file splitter and joiner need to be updated often? It's feature complete and works on current MacOS just fine.
