How is this being implemented? Is it just an HTML5 website that's being redirected to by the DNS?
That's because it's a security feature that's specific to windows (I'm fairly sure or does chrome, etc do that on other OS's as well? Well irrelevant though as REMx is for win only right?). Basically windows apps and browsers are regarded as sensitive content, and it's tricky to bypass it I remember having to deal with that kind of thing before. It could be fixed to allow it, but you basically have to inject custom code into the process (ex. chrome) and directly read the screen or window image in a way that actually produces the image of what's displayed instead of just black.

Yes, the WifiWebAuthApplet works in all versions, it can't use a whitelist / blacklist (since Nintendo can't know the domains of every hotspot login in the world...), so this will never be patched.

puyo puyo tetris combined with a reverse proxy to bypass the whitelist will let you use it, but I would not go through all that jus to get a browser working...

i already own a puyo puyo, thats why i was thinking of trying it, how is the reverse method your refering to done. i still havent even installed pega yet
That’s a good start!
So the way this stuff works is:
When you are viewing the game manual you are using a webkit applet (“mini browser”) that loads the .pdf from local storage (file://xxxx) This applet is just called the Webapplet (010000000000100A)
Since the manual has a link to Sega’s website you can load that webpage. As this particular applet also allows HTML to be loaded. The browser however has a whitelist of pages that can be used and will display a error if you try to connect to anything not in that whitelist. We can’t modify it without CFW though.
The solution?
We set up a middle man server that handles the requests from the Switch. So when the Switch asks for “Sega.com”, the server will send the data from gbatemp.com (or whatever you configure it to) and tells the Switch “this is from Sega.com” by doing so the whitelist has no effect on what html we can load as it thinks the data is coming for a valid URL.

Honestly, maybe but probably not. Because pretty much everything except messaging is done so far, so therefore since it's not ESSENTIAL it could technically be done without that. Depends on how I feel about it at the time and the others too.

Will also be doing some closed-beta style stuff this week to test the servers out, get people's thoughts and some bug-checks, but probably not open so don't ask. Without messaging it's not too exciting anyway.

Sorry it was confusing, I meant he "tested it out today." It will be out very soon, I don't wanna make any promises when.
