Hacking Pokemon Ultra Sun Update Notification

My New 3ds showed me an update notification for Ultra Sun. I updated it by installing a CIA file. Once I installed the CIA file, the update notification is still there. So I manually deleted the update file through System Settings and update it through Home Menu. When it reaches 99 percent, it gives me an error code. I did it several times and the problem still persists same as installing with a CIA file. Is there any way to fix this?

You mean the 1.2 update? Just download it on the freeshop if it gives you that much of a struggle.
Something similar happened to me with Resident Evil. I updated it normally but for some reason the update notice is still there, but the freeshop tells me it is already updated.
It's whatever, just keep playing.

I heard the latest USUM update has can detect if it was installed from freeshop, and that it results in a ban.

Apparently Ninty are putting something in these patches that can tell if it was downloaded from eshop or not, and that if not it doesn't play very nice with your console (or account).
Is this actually true?

I finally solved the problem. What I did was deleted the unused ticket and the ticket itself of the Ultra Sun update, and then I manually update it through the Home Menu. After a few minutes, it finally updated. Thanks for the help guys!
