  1. Legendary sountrack? yes
  2. Awesome dungeons? absoluetly
  3. Ocarina? this rating makes no sense anymore
  4. Weapons that break after killing 2 enemies? who cares
  5. More a collecting game, than a adventure game? Yes
Still worth the "9.7"? absoluetly

and aonuma stated manytimes in which position this game fits n the timeline
Ok which soundtrack?? The random sounds when you walk around? The 4 awesome very short repetitive dungeons? Yes ocarina is one of the Zelda elements, which is not there.. Like a lot of elements.

To my knowledge the ocarina is only in 2 Zelda games and one was a direct sequel to the other. It's not exactly a recurring item.
It does have an awesome soundtrack. There aren't a lot of songs but most of them are pretty great. All the towns and dungeons have their own themes, I especially enjoyed the song in one of the dungeons and in the Rito village. There are some other songs scattered around too. I wish there was more, but that doesn't make what's there any less great.
It's certainly far from a perfect game but I still enjoyed it a lot.

Even if Nintendo themselves released an official timeline, I find it bothersome that they try at all. It's rubbish, the game were not made with a timeline in mind to begin with so its all just shoehorned in. Like crap retconning, its all cobbled together with garbage reasoning anyways.

The Zelda games actually were initially made with a simple timeline in mind, right up to Ocarina of Time. It's when Majora's Mask and Wind Waker came into the picture that things got complicated, but even then we can't know for sure if Nintendo thought that far back.

That would probably be from Majora's Mask up until now then. They might not make the games with a timeline in mind at first anymore, but the first few games clearly had some sequel/prequel continuity in mind.
Some were obvious sequels to others, like Majora's mask, yes, but that doesn't mean that those 2 games are tied in with any other game at all.

This game is a skyrim rip off really idk why it got game of the year.
Because they slapped "The Legend of Zelda" on the cover. Honestly, this doesn't even feel like a Zelda game. I enjoyed the game. It was fun. ...but I feel this really wasn't a ZELDA game at all. More like a Zelda skin on Nintendo's empty, boring version of Skyrim.

Adventure of Link is a sequel to Legend of Zelda. Link to the Past was a prequel to both. Ocarina of Time is another prequel to all of them, depicting the events of LttP's intro. Those all together form a timeline, and were released very close between each other (even Link's Awakening was meant to be a sequel to LttP). The point is, they did have a continuity in mind back then. All the Zelda titles afterwards is anyone's guess whether they paid attention to continuity or not. I'd hazard to say that at the time, even Wind Waker had some distant sequel connection in mind with the rest before they brought out the official timeline.

I'm sure they made the games with some sort of idea in mind, I can agree to that, but its nothing set in stone. Not counting games that are OBVIOUS sequels like Majora's Mask, where they straight up say its a sequel, there are always details that don't fit. Maybe we could speculate that they use the other games as tools when coming up with the story? Who knows? Still though, it has been said many times by many developers. They don't care about the timeline. Its fun to come up with your own version of how everything fits together, but there isn't a "correct" answer.

Theres no reason to kill stuff in this game aside from bosses really you get more hearts an stamina from shrines.
Stealth armor, best armor. :D

As far as BotW is concerned, yes. They haven't made much effort of placing it into a timeline beyond just "after the split", probably because at the end of the day it restricts creative freedom. Still, they did manage to piece it all together and pretty seamlessly when they brought the timeline out.

See what I mean? Fans like you don't give up. Think whatever makes you happy. I'm telling you though, its a fact, the games were never intended to be one giant timeline. It has been said in the past.

I just agreed with you and you're the one telling me I'm not giving up? I just conceded that they didn't make BotW with a timeline in mind, which is exactly what the topic of your linked article stated. If you could link another article stating the same thing anytime before the official timeline was published, then fine; I'll be glad to concede that they weren't thinking about the timeline before they made it.

You only agreed with me for BotW. You implied most or all of the other, older games did have a clear timeline.

As far as BotW is concerned, yes.

In the end, does it really matter? (I must be the only Zelda fan that doesn't give a shit about timelines...) I don't play the Zelda games as if they sequel one-another (Unless they specifically say they do, like Link To The Past and Link Between Worlds). Nor do I need them to reference one another. I just enjoy each installment at face-value, and on to the next. Hopefully we'll get a new Zelda game in a year or two that was actually MADE for the Switch, and not just a shoe-horned Wii U port.
