I am interested in buying a Gamecube so I decided to look up prices. I did an Amazon search and after some searching I found a PAL Black console for about £40, Animal Crossing for around the same price and a memory card for £3. It totals to about £93. I can just about afford it but would be broke afterwards. If anyone can find a cheaper deal I would be glad to here it. I am currently only interested in Animal Crossing but I am planning to buy other games afterwards.

Thanks!

Nah, get and old wii with full GC support. Sets you back about $15
That's what I should have done but at the time I was really into modding consoles so I bought a gamecube installed a chip and I think i may need to go back a do some re-soldering (not sure if that's the right term) but I'm to lazy right now.

Why not just use the Dolphin emulator? everything is free wit the emulator.
My 'PC' can't handle it very well, cheaper to buy hardware. Also, I'm no pirate.

I have an old Wii but I like the look of the Gamecube and I like collecting old systems.

@Minecraft8000 So you're not asking if it is a good idea to buy a GC nowadays but for the cheapest deal, this can be misinterpreted.
I really like the Wii U for GC, Wii and Wii U on one system and even if it is beyond your budget, yes you can play devolution that has an antipiracy mechanism so you can only play your own dumped GC games, but as the Wii U doesn't support GC discs you only could use a Wii for that(or you just use nintendont with a Wii U).

Looking for the cheapest deal wasn't my original intent when writing the title, sorry. I was originally asking whether it was worth it.

For now I am probably just going to use my Wii, as it would lower the cost to just £50 (Controller, game, memory card)

Get the Wii. 2 consoles in one, what's not to love? Plus, some games are badly emulated and will be unstable/lag like mad/have incomplete features, and hey, most GameCube games are dirt cheap in second hand shops.

Already decided on this.

Mods, lock this please.
