Why burned discs? HDD backups are much more reliable.

I have no clue about DVD-Rs, as that method is very old.
USB Loader GX and Nintendont are recommended, as you can use USB Loader GX to run your Wii and Gamecube games (although GCN needs Nintendont).

Yeah, either Wiiflow or USB Loader GX + Nintendont will do what you want
