Nintendo has been remastering lots of Wii U games on the Switch lately (yes, I am captain obvious). I'd be surprised if there weren't any more currently unannounced Wii U remasters being worked on.

I currently own Mario Kart 8 DX and Zelda BOTW but said 3 in the poll because I will buy the inevitable Sm4sh DX when its out.

EDIT: In this thread every retail game which is available on both the Wii U and Switch is considered a remaster.

None. I refuse to Buy Wii U remasters when I own a Wii U. That said, I might buy ports from other consoles if it makes sense to buy said game.

botw is a wiiu remaster, they had one team rebuild it from the ground up for switch

None, as I own them on the Wii U. If I didn't then I would purchase them on the Switch.

Some day I might pick Mario Kart 8 up on the cheap, however given it's double the price I paid for it on the Wii U I don't see that happening anytime soon.

i rebought mk8dx on switch because nobody i knew wanted to play on wiiu back then, but now the switch is on fire and now they play

Most people i know don't own a Switch so we just play 4 player split screen on the Wii U. However if you and your all friends are going to frequently play on the Switch then it's a good investment.

Many of the re-releases would be nice to have, it's just not something i'd personally throw money at unless they were extremity cheap. I've done that on the PC with some 360 games i owned.

I prefer the idea of GOTY editions being the remaster, that way its not the same base game and you feel more like its the best edition to own.

Hyrule warriors I loved but never got the DLC for on Wii U, I skipped playing it altogether on 3DS, and now will get it on switch again for all the DLC and better portability than the 3DS version.

Sometimes I agree though I mean I hated bayonetta, not a fan of Tropical Freeze... so I'm in no rush to get those.

I bought MK8DX and play almost every day, so no regrets.

Bought BotW, might technically be a WiiU remaster but I think the Switch version is better, and this ain't the first time Nintendo's used Zelda for a bridge (Twilight Princess).

I might buy Tropical Freeze down the line, if there's an eshop sale or something. Same would go for Pikmin3, Capt Toad, Paper Mario CS. Haven't played any of those yet.

But if Nintendo really wants my money for rehashing their old shit, they'd better get busy on Gamecube Virtual Console.

how is botw a wiiu remaster? when it was a simultenous release? so every crossgen game releasing on same day is a remaster? that makes no sence lol we are full of fifa, cod remasters lol.

a crossgen game is not a remaster at all... if it releases on the same day but looks better on more powerful hardware does not make it a remaster.

im guessing just ddance games are double remastered then since same day release for wii, wiiu and switch lol.

It is a remaster, botw was built from the ground up separately for the Nintendo switch

I think of botw as simultaneous mastering; they obviously started on wii u first and then migrated mastering to dual systems. When a remaster is done, they usually create new art and music and features to improve upon the game; to encourage repurchasing of a game. This wasn't really done; so I probably wouldn't call many of the wii u to switch games remastered...

Got Mario Kart 8 deluxe; though it is almost not really a remaster either; it's as the title states; a deluxe port of the same game with a few added features. Got it for on the go play with multiplayer, and because after turning in my copy of the wii u version to amazon it wasn't too expensive of an upgrade.

Probably not getting many other ports "remasters". As I have a wii u and those versions are sufficient for most games.

Wouldn't call BotW a WiiU remaster but whatever. Neither MK8D either, it's just an upgrade.

I've stopped buying Switch games for a while now since I've lost interest though I still play MK8D.

so what? they need to rebuilt every game when they switch console specialy if they switch architeture...

all ps3 and ps4 games released on both had to be built totaly diferent, same for xbox 360 and xb1 you go from ppc to x86 you need to rebuild everything, same way the wiiu to switch was changed from ppc to arm architeture.

Every crossgen game needs to be rebuilt for the ground up becuase engines dont work on diferent architetures unless they are rebuilt.

the only exception is gc to wii since same architeture, same cpu but faster, same gpu so they only changed the ssytem calls.

so yeah that logic is totaly flawed...

Porting an engine is not remastering a game.
Or else on every gen all crossgen games are all remasters, i uess ps4 and xb1 have dozens of unoficial remaster due to being crossgen lol.

No one ever will say watchdogs is remastered, or destiny or fifa games, or just dance games...

There's no such thing as a simultaneous release remaster. It only runs slightly better on Switch.

Oh I forgot Bayonetta 2 is coming in for me today, so technically 4 WiiU games.

for him crossgen games are remasters becuase they look better on the more powerful platforms... i didnt knew he had same days remasters of ps3 and xbox 360 games on ps4 and xb1, so for him i guess we already had over 50 remasters on the first year of each console due to crossgen games lol.

I don't consider breath of the wild remaster, but I own it. It was the only game I was willing to buy at launch, otherwise I wouldn't have a game to play, But ever since Blaster Master zero came out week later I kinda had that, then i stupidly bought shovel knight for switch (Stupidly cause I own wii u version and didn't have to pay $25 for the extra characters, it was free in updates)

I would buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe cause I never bought it on wii u, but not until i find it for $40 or less. No interest in Pokken tournament. Willing to buy DKC tropical freeze cause Is so good I want to play it again (would been nice to include DKC returns as combo pack like bayonetta EXCEPT NOT DOWNLOAD ONLY) Kinda disappointed in bayonetta cause the first game is dlc only not on cart like the second one, and there is hardly any new features added, unlike mario kart 8 deluxe or pokken or dkc tropical freeze. $60 for a clone? Please

Yeah no, even "DX" versions aren't really remasters, they have the same graphics with slightly better performance and more included content. They're literally just that: deluxe versions.

Of course, way more people are going to own Switch than WiiU, so it makes sense for Nintendo to do this. This time.

some people dont understand the diference between a remake/remaster and a game of the year edition,or deluxe edition, or complete edition or whatever edition hey wanna call it.

the games are not being remastered becuase they dont look better lol, every remaster makes the game look better(unless its a very bad remaster).

well bayoneta 2 is basicaly a rerelease imo, i got bayoneta 1 and 2 on disc for wiiu so im skipping that xD.

never had interest in pokken not on wiiu or switch, im not into fighting games even tough i love pokemon and smash bros, but i cant like regular fighting games.

i tough about tropical freeze but i think i will get a wiiu version since besides the easy mode its the same and the wiiu copys go for under 15 euros now used lol.

i always wanted hyrule warriors and with dlc included i will probably get it.
