Meditation is increasingly popular these days. Every so often you hear of some study which found some benefit of mediation. Look at all the meditation apps you can get on your phone. But its not something people tend to casually talk about with their friends. Sitting down and focusing on your breath for 10-20 minutes just isn't the coolest thing to do.

Look up Mindfullness. It's just a fancy word for meditation, you might find more info about it that way.

Reminds me of the time I tried meditating in school in the 4th Grade. I would even go as far as to strike the traditional meditating pose, eyes closed and legs crossed. In my seat. During class. With everyone else around.

I was a weird kid.

There was a time when I was kind of psychic. So I meditated everyday and I saw my powers growing each day.
I soon began predicting Earthquakes and pretty nasty stuff too.

Would you like me to read your past, present and future?

I don't personally, but I recently read a story about how schools are increasingly adding guided meditation instead of straight-out time outs and it's got a positive impact on the amount of repeat offenders and other stuff.

I'm probably a bit scatterbrained to ever get into it myself, but if it's helping people, I'm all for it.

Meditation apps.
I'm pretty sure meditating is something you do without staring at your phone...

Anyway I don't meditate.
I just light up a spliff.
You don't have to stare at your phone, meditation apps are mostly only sound and some calm voices.

Negative captain. I have the attention span of a goldfish. Sitting and focusing on breathing(?) for so long is rather challenging. If we broaden the definition of meditation a little bit, then ya sure. After a difficult exam, most of my electrical engineering buddies will just go to our lounge and just sit down, breath, and overall just be thankful that that train wreck of an exam is over. We typically all just sit quietly, close are eyes and.... well, breath. Huh, i guess I "meditate" more than I thought.

if have time, take a short refreshing nap this will wake up ur mind and relax ur brain making you more reactive and efficient about ur job/study.

Meditation is not proved by any scientific research to demonstrate benefits that tc said.

I never got why people actually believe they can meditate while on their phones or that an app actually helps...:/

I do meditate every now and then, but not the pointless "yoga-like" meditation, just completely emptying my mind while doing some basic martial arts drills when I'm bored or need to calm down.

You don't have to stare at your phone, meditation apps are mostly only sound and some calm voices.
That's not "meditation", that's "relaxation"...

They have an app for anything.

People make that rubbish so that idiots can download it, get bombarded with adds where the appmaker makes money off off.
It's typical.
The people end up getting more frustrated, meaning they get more apps ;')
