Nintendo Labo announced

Nintendo has revealed the announcement they were teasing for today, and at 10 PM GMT, the Nintendo Labo was revealed to the public. Focusing on three key tenets of "make, play, and discover", the Nintendo Labo are "Toy-Cons" that consist of cardboard and can be crafted together to create things such as a little piano, house, fishing rod, and more. The Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons are then placed within them, for interactivity. To start, there will be two kits, one that's a variety kit which includes a fishing rod, 2 cars, a house, a motorbike handlebar, and a piano. The second, is a "robotic backpack suit". The products will cost $69.99 or $79.99 respectively.

Both sets will release on April 20, 2018, and Nintendo will be holding hands-on events to demo the Nintendo Labo in New York City from Feb. 2-3, and in San Francisco from Mar. 2-4. If you're interested, you can register for that here. The Labo will require folding the cardboard in order to make it form into the object you want, by following the guidlines provided in the box. Some of the creations will also have minigames that utilize the Joy-Cons, where you use the rumbling from the controller in order to know when to reel in the fishing pole. Also shown was a piano, which plays music when the cardboard keys are pressed.

Unless Nintendo decides to use NFC tags to stop "cardboard piracy" or third party cardboard knock offs.
That wouldn't work. Amiibos are pirated all the time, wouldn't be long before the cardboard was too. Costs about $0.30 for a NTAG215.

LOL you dont even comment in a thread and its fanboys mention me in them.

I have nothing to say about this cheap (over priced) crap, your paying $70 ($50) for a game just to play pre set mini games because you get to make a cardboard box and pretend your playing a piano or fishing.

yea this is an AAA game right here, likely (not for me) be fun for 20 minutes then your bored of it by end of the month, definitely something kids will end up destroying and without kids will wear down and break in no time.

But anyways thanks for the mention, i guess you've got your daily "must defend nintendo" fix for the day.

:D there's the lad we all know and love

ign is just killing me
All I see here are paper cuts...lots and lots of paper cuts.
starving children could be living in this cardboard and Nintendo wanna try to sell it to us. DISGUSTING.
not even worth wiping my ass with
reply
Yet you're going to spend more money this year on paper to wipe your ass with.

Not to mention Nintendo has said they are putting the plan online. But again, I don't expect most people in this thread to do an ounce of actual research.

i can see this being a genious thing in the future, remenber all those addons that some companys made to play said games diferently? like link crossbow, tennis raket, steering whell, ping pong raket, golf club, bongos, etc, nintendo made afew of those too and those were plastic and expensive to make and you would only use them on 1 game or 2, with this they can make said addons for cents so basicaly free and sell them with a switch cartrige for a great profit margin as they retail it full price.

just think about the addons they can make for so cheap i can see them making a tennis racket for mario tennis, golf club for a future mario golf, a steering wheel for the next mario kart and so on.

As I said in another post.

I think everyone here is a bit too salty for something that is NOT targeted at you, even Nintendo said that this announcement were targeted at kids (or even parents)...

Hell, I bet everything I own that Nintendo said that in order to avoid criticism (or better said, cynicism) like this, but damn, it won't stop. As always, the only culprits for dissapointment are yourselves, for rising your hipe too high for something thah you don't have any idea of.

Not everything in the world is made only for you, Mr. "I'mtheonlypersonintheworldtobepleased"

If you don't want it, don't buy it. If you think your children doesn't need it, don't buy it to them, simple as that, but calling shit something just because you don't like it... oh, right, internet, I forget everytime that's your purpose of existence nowdays.

Oh, and for those crying about the price: Is a full game, and the price is only for the cartdrige/software, not the carboard itself, Nintendo will offer the prints for free.

Pretty sure that means it is targeted to both kids and ADULTS, inmatures ones who can justify this crap of playing arround with cardboard stuff.

I'm confused as to what you think the phrase "Child at heart" means
