That's not quite an answer to my question though, I'm interested in knowing if there are plans to release this or not. Otherwise it really just looks like a timed attack at making their opponents look worse.
Nobody here can answer that question. Unless there's someone here with inside knowledge?

Fail isn't exactly known for being community friendly. So, if this just a big tease, it's not surprising.

My thought is that I don't quite care. I've been around long enough to know that fail loves showing off. There's a few devs/modders that do that as well. Was fairly prominent earlier in the 3DS days.

I think you're feeding into conspiracies in the weirdest ways.

Maybe, or I may just not be as naive as some. Either way it's my opinion not trying to shove it down anyone's throat, you don't agree, you don't need/have to. Lets move on.

Take this as a tease more than anything.
They did something similar with the Wii U, yet here we are in 2018 with the Wii U discontinued and yet they haven't released a thing.
I wouldn't hold my hopes up for a release from them to be honest.

though highly unlikely FoF may relese their findings to prevent XE and sky from making money off piracy (if the exploit FoF has and is software/unpatchable once installed) it would be much more cost effective and less risky than installing a mod chip if i think what it is nintendo can patch the entry point on later firmware just not the exploit itself like 360's JTAG

JTAG is patchable, purely cause it exploited a software flaw.
RGH however is unpatchable.
Yes, you can make it difficult by splitting the bootloaders and what not, but in the end it remains a unpatchable hack as it's activated really early in boot.
Something that MS can't patch with software.

so your saying if i updated a JTag'd 360 through normal means I'd either losE the exploit or WORSE brick my 360?

Just get a ps3. They are cheap nowadays
That defeats the purpose of why i want persona 5 on pc...
I want mods and higher resolution...
You can mod on the ps3 version but there aren't many...

btw to keep this on topic...
I think it's amazing how fast the switch is getting hacked!

Does that come with time travel as well?
But seriously i dont expect much from this unless piracy already runs rabid on the switch.
Given xecuter is on the scene I'm sure it will be. That's the typical goal of the work they do.

I hope Team-Xecuter gets destroyed by open source devs. No need for another greedy ass money hoarding company like Gateway.

And I hope those greedy ass scalpers selling exploitable Switch consoles get screwed over by eBay's Buy Protection program. Sorry, but keeping exploits to only 3.x.x will only stagnate the scene; I don't see this being open source.

You DO realize that they don't purposely keep the exploits and/or entrypoints exclusive to lower FW versions, right?

So what do you propose we do? Stay on 3.x.x and not be able to play the newest games? You certainly sound pretty damn butthurt that people have come up with a solution that would work on all firmware. If you feel that way, fine, it's not my problem, I don't see any exploits being found on 4.x.x for a year at least, 3.x.x only be damned.

I don't see them actively searching for 4.x.x exploits, so, they may as well be.

This greedy ass company is promoting progress. They're not like Gateway.
If they decide to release source code, documentation, etc, maybe I'll see. But until then, I don't see anything different than Gateway in 2013.

Fine by us. Progress is progress, I'd rather not it be granted to just those on 3.x.x.
