We don't know which comes first or if either will ever, 3.0.1+ hacks or 3.0.1+ games on older versions. If you want games, update. If you want Homebrew, don't.

That was the most concise, direct, and all around outstanding answer I've heard on the subject. We have no response. That was perfect. Thank you.

You bought a switch to play games right? Or did you buy it for playing homebrew snake and tetris clones? Update and enjoy the games, if a hack worth having comes around it will be on higher firmware as well.

Also remember, a worthwhile hack may never come.

Buying a second switch is stupid as well since thats like 5 to 10 games worth of money if you use the buy one get one 50% off deals or buy them used, or on sales. If you got $300 burning a hole in your pocket just buy games with it.

Some homebrew games are actually amazing. They aren't all tetris clones. And at least with homebrew, you get emulators. Wouldn't mind having homebrew tbh

Sure, but you can just as well play all those on a raspberry pi portable that would cost you $40 and you wouldnt have to wait for a hack for and would be more future proof than the Switch. If you bought Switch for emulation then you bought the wrong device. You basically spent $300 on something that can be bought for $40 to play Computer Science student class projects.

Its a universal truth that homebrew games will never be as good as retail games, because if they were as good or better then they would be sellable and they wouldnt be homebrew.

Agreed. Now that basically anybody can self publish a game or get it released on Steam, homebrew games have never been less relevant. I want the ability to play back ups as well as cool system hacks. I have much better devices for emulation. It would be neat though. Everything with a processor and the ability to output video should have emulators written for it.
